The URN (Universal Registration Number) is a permanent ID used for all UPSC examinations. It is generated once in a lifetime — if you already have a URN from a previous UPSC exam, skip to Step 3.

  1. Visit upsconline.nic.in

  2. Click on "Account Creation" on the homepage

  3. Enter your Email ID, Mobile Number, and other basic details

  4. Verify your email and mobile number via OTP

  5. Set a password and complete account creation

  6. Fill the Universal Registration (URN) Profile — this has three modules: Personal details, Educational details, Address details

  7. Important: Review all entered data carefully. You can edit the URN profile multiple times before locking, but once locked, only a one-time edit is allowed and changes won't apply to already-submitted applications

  8. Click "Lock and Submit" to generate your URN

How to Withdraw NDA 2 2026 Application Form
