The Indian Army recruits eligible unmarried male and female engineering graduates and also from widows of Indian Armed Forces Defence Personnel who died in the harness of grant for Short Service Commission through the SSC Tech 62 Men and SSCW Tech 33 Women recruitment process. The course will begin in April 2024 at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Recently, the officials have released the SSC Tech 62 and SSCW Tech 33 Merit List for all the shortlisted candidates on the official website. As per the SSC Tech 62 Men merit list, a total of 37 candidates have been shortlisted for the civil branch, 77 candidates for the computer science branch, 26 candidates for the electrical branch, 37 candidates for the electronics branch, 64 candidates for mechanical branch, and 7 candidates for miscellaneous engineering branch. According to the SSCW Tech 33 Women merit list, 12 candidates are shortlisted for the civil branch, 32 candidates for the computer science branch, 11 candidates for the electrical branch, 19 candidates for the electronics branch, and 8 candidates for the mechanical branch. The SSC Tech 62 and SSCW Tech 33 merit lists will be prepared for the engineering stream/subject-wise based on the scores obtained at the SSB interview. If one or more candidates obtain equal SSB marks, then the following tie-breaking criteria will be followed one by one.- The older candidate(s) in age will get preference in the merit.
- If the tie still persists, the candidate(s) with a higher percentage of marks in the qualifying examination will get a higher preference in the merit.
What Next After SSC Tech 62 and SSCW Tech 33 Merit List
After the declaration of the SSC Tech 62 and SSCW Tech 33 merit list, the selected candidates will be required to undergo training at the Officers Training Academy, Chennai as per their position in the final order of merit (engineering stream-wise) upto the availability of vacancies and subject to fulfilment of all eligibility criteria. The duration of training shall be 49 weeks.
