NATA 2026 Qualifying Cutoff

The NATA 2026 qualifying cutoff is the minimum score candidates must achieve to be eligible for BArch admissions through the National Aptitude Test in Architecture. The cutoff is set by the Council of Architecture (CoA), and candidates are required to obtain more than or equal to the qualifying marks for admission. The qualifying cutoff for NATA 2026 is 70 marks out of 200.  Candidates also need at least 20 marks in Part A and 30 marks in Part B to be considered qualified.

Candidates must note that achieving this qualifying score is mandatory, but it does not guarantee admission. Individual colleges set their own admission cutoffs based on factors like seat availability, applicant performance, and category reservations. The best score from multiple NATA attempts in 2026 will be considered for admission, and the qualifying score is valid for one academic year.

NATA 2026 Merit List

The NATA 2026 Merit List is published by the Council of Architecture after the results are declared. The merit list is prepared based on the candidates’ performance in the NATA exam. Some colleges also consider marks from the 10+2 qualifying examination, often giving weightage to Mathematics for the preparation of the merit list. Candidates should regularly check the official NATA website and their preferred colleges for updates on merit list publication and subsequent admission procedures.

NATA 2026 Tie Breaking Rule

When two or more candidates achieve the same total score in the exam, the NATA tie-breaking rule is applied to prepare the merit list. It is described below.

  • Candidates with higher overall marks in Mathematics are given a higher rank.
  • If the tie persists, the candidate with fewer wrong answers in the Mathematics section is preferred.
  • If the tie still continues, higher overall marks in the General Aptitude Test are considered.
  • If still tied, the candidate with fewer wrong answers in the General Aptitude Test is ranked higher.
  • If the tie remains, the older candidate (by date of birth) is given preference.
  • In the end, if all these criteria fail to resolve the tie, the candidates are awarded the same rank.

NATA Counselling 2026

NATA Counselling 2026 will not be conducted as a centralized process by the Council of Architecture (CoA). Instead, qualified candidates must apply individually to their preferred institutes using their NATA 2026 scores. Each participating college or university will release its own counselling schedule and admission process, so candidates need to regularly check the official websites of the institutes they are interested in. State-level counselling processes may also accept NATA scores for B.Arch admissions, and the specific details, dates, and procedures will vary by institution.
