IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Age limit

Candidates between the ages of 20 and 30 are eligible to apply for the position. The specific date for calculating their age will be mentioned in the official notification. Moreover, there are certain relaxations in the age limit based on the category they belong to. The age relaxation for IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025 is given below in the table.

  • Commission Officers, encompassing ECOs and SSCOs who have acquired a minimum of five years of experience in military services and have been released on assignment (either completed or expected within a year), were granted an age relaxation of 5 years.
  • Applicants from the ST category with a physical disability receive an age relaxation of 15 years.
  • Individuals wishing to take advantage of relaxation benefits must upload relevant documents at any point during the recruitment process on the official IBPS PO website.
  • Ex-servicemen in Cadre Officers do not qualify for any reservation.
Candidates seeking age relaxation will be required to submit the necessary certificates In Original, along with photocopies at the time of the Interview and any subsequent stage of the requirement process as required by IBPS participating Banks.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Educational Qualification

The following are the educational requirements for IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025:

Graduation Degree: The eligibility criteria for the IBPS CRP exam is as basic as a graduation degree (BA, BCom, BSc, B.Tech or as such) in any discipline from a University recognized by the Government of India. Any such candidate who has received equivalent qualification which is recognized by the Central Government is also eligible to apply for this exam.

Officer Scale-II Specialist Officers (Manager) Information Technology Officer: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized University in Electronics / Communication / Computer Science / Information Technology or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Minimum 50% marks, specific certification (Certificate in ASP, PHP, C++, Java, VB, VC, OCP, etc) with one year of experience in the relevant field
Chartered Accountant: Certified Associate (CA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India One year as a Chartered Accountant
Law Officer: Degree in Law or its equivalent Minimum 50% marks, two years as an advocate or Law Officer in Banks or Financial Institutions for at least two years
Treasury Manager: Chartered Accountant or MBA in Finance from a recognized university/ institution One Year (in the relevant field)
Marketing Officer: MBA in Marketing from a recognized university One Year (in the relevant field)
Agricultural Officer: Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural Engineering/ Pisciculture from a recognized university or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate Two Years (in the relevant field)
Officer Scale-III (Senior Manager) Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Preference will be given to candidates having a Degree/ Diploma in Banking, Finance, Marketing, Agriculture, Horticulture, Forestry, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Agricultural Engineering, Pisciculture, Agricultural Marketing and Co-operation, Information Technology, Management, Law, Economics and Accountancy Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Officer in a Bank or Financial Institutions
The candidates must have a valid mark sheet / Degree Certificate that certifies that they are a graduate on the day they register for this exam, and must indicate the percentage of marks obtained in Graduation while registering for the IBPS Bank-PO examination.

Computer Literacy: Working knowledge of computer systems is necessary for the job as well as to give the IBPS PO exam which is conducted in online mode.

Language Proficiency: Verbal and written proficiency in the official language of the State/UT is desirable. The candidate must be able to read, write and speak the language.

Points to Remember

  • Graduation dates are official leap years for DV authorities; the applicant must be admitted by August 2025.
  • The applicant must have a hard copy of the passing certificate. Proof of Rector's/Dean's diploma is mandatory if the applicant has it in digital form.
  • Acceptable percentage does not have to be semester/year, but the total percentage will be accepted rounded. For example, a candidate's percentage of 79.94 is considered 80 percent. .

IBPS PO Percentage Calculation

  • The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the Subjects in the semester by the aggregate maximum marks multiplied by a hundred. This will be applicable for those Universities also where class or grade is decided based on Hounered marks Only.
  • The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99 % will be treated as less than 55%.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Nationality 

  1. Candidates must be permanent citizens of India
  2. The subject of Bhutan or Nepal.
  3. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India.
  4. Candidates who migrated to Nepal/Bhutan/Pakistan/Burma/Kenya/Uganda/Sri Lanka/East African countries/ Ethiopia/Vietnam can also appear in the exam
  5. Candidates belonging to (3) or (4) must have valid documents to prove citizenship.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025 Reservations 

According to section 34 a person with benchmark disabilities are eligible for a reservation for IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria 2025. There are certain disabilities mentioned.
  1. “OC” Category
  2. Visible Impairment (VI) Category- after the best correction candidate will be eligible to apply.
  3. Hearing Impaired (“HI”) Category
  4. Intellectual disability
  5. Multiple Disease - means multiple disabilities among the clause

IBPS PO Participating Banks

Eleven banks are participating in the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection Examination; after qualifying for this Examination candidate can get an opportunity to become a Probationary Officer (PO) in the following banks. The list of the banks which accept PO examinations is as follows:

IBPS PO Visual Standards

The IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria for Visually Impaired Candidates outlines particular instructions that the applicant must adhere to. Candidates with a visual impairment greater than 40% may choose a magnified view of the question paper with a compensation time of 20 minutes per hour or as otherwise recommended.

The vision for magnified content is not available to candidates utilizing the scribe service, and prior notification of the use of a scribe must be given when submitting the IBPS PO application form.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria for EWS Candidates 

The Candidate who belongs to EWS Category should follow the following criteria: Candidates who are classed as EWS, or Economically Weaker Section candidates, are those who do not belong under the SC, ST, or OBC categories and whose gross annual income is less than Rs. 8 lakh. For the roles that IBPS has announced, these people qualify for a 10% reservation. However, any individual or his family that possesses any of the following assets will not be eligible for the EWS category, regardless of their annual family income.
  • A minimum of five acres or greater of agricultural land
  • Apartments for residents that are at least 1000 square feet in size.
  • 100 square yards or larger residential property in towns that have been notified.

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria for PWD Candidates

As per the Government of India norms, persons with benchmark disabilities are eligible for reservation under section 34 of ‘The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016’ The categories of disabilities eligible to avail reservation under the Act are as follows:
  • Deaf and hard of hearing
  • Blindness and low vision
  • Intellectual disability, autism, mental illness, and specific learning disability
  • locomotor disability including leprosy, cerebral palsy, dwarfism, muscular dystrophy, and acid attack victims
People with benchmark disabilities will be allocated the reserved vacancies as prescribed in the ‘Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016' and as per vacancies reported to IBPS by participating banks.

IBPS PO Number of Attempts

IBPS has not specified any cap on the number of attempts for the IBPS PO examination. A candidate is allowed to take the exam as long as they fulfill the age limit requirements established by the authority.

IBPS PO Medical Standards

For the IBPS PO exam, candidates need to attach their medical fitness certificate; depending on eligibility, the applicant must complete the following tests to verify and compare the medical report with other documents.
  • Blood test
  • Serum Cholesterol
  • Abdomen & pelvis ultrasonography
  • H.I.V test with Serum Creatinine
  • E.S.R
  • Urine and Stool Routine

IBPS PO Eligibility Criteria Documents Required

  1. Photo Identity Proof, AADHAAR Card or PAN Card, and Driving License; both documents are valid for identification proof.
  2. Date of Birth proof can be verified with the help of the original and printout of the Birth certificate by the respective region Municipal Corporation.
  3. Educational Certificates of XI, XII, and Graduation degree original and print copy and Attesting a digital graduation certificate from an institutional authority is mandatory.
  4. A caste certificate, Interview call letter, and IBPS PO Admit Card are mandatory for all categories General/SC/ST/OBC to bring to the Interview center.
  5. Income and total assets certificates attested by the local government are mandatory to bring by candidates who opt for the EwS category.
  6. Experience or Work certificate, if any, and a computer proficiency certificate must also be attached.
  7. Twice Passport size photos 200×230 pixels in hardcopy.
