CLAT 2026: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026 registration process started on August 1, 2025, and will continue until October 31, 2025. Candidates can register online through the official Consortium of NLUs website. CLAT 2026 will be conducted offline on December 7, 2025. The registration fee is ₹4,000 for General, OBC, PwD, and NRI categories and ₹3,500 for SC/ST/BPL candidates. 

CLAT 2026 offers admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs across top National Law Universities and participating institutions. The exam paper will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions covering sections like English, Current Affairs, Logical and Legal Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.

CLAT 2026 Registration Date

CLAT 2026 registration date was announced on the official website along with the notification. The CLAT 2026 registration began on August 1, 2025. Candidates must complete their registration on or before October 31, 2025. No extension has been granted as of now for the registration. The registration fee for General, OBC, PwD, NRI, PIO, and OCI candidates is ₹4,000, while candidates from SC, ST, and BPL categories have to pay ₹3,500. 

CLAT 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The CLAT 2026 eligibility criteria specify that candidates applying for the undergraduate (UG) program must have passed Class 12 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board. The following are CLAT 2026 eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Consortium of NLUs for UG courses:

  • Visit the official Consortium of NLUs website: consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Click on the ‘Register’ button and provide your name, mobile number, email ID, and create a password.
  • Verify your mobile number using the OTP sent to your registered mobile.
  • Log in with your credentials and fill in the application form with personal, academic, and contact details.
  • Upload scanned copies of required documents such as a recent passport-size photograph, signature, and category certificate (if applicable).
  • Select your preferred test centers as per availability.
  • Pay the application fee online using debit/credit card, net banking, or UPI.
  • Review all entered details carefully and submit the application form.

CLAT 2026 vs AILET 2026 Exam Date

Earlier, AILET and CLAT were scheduled on the same day, i.e., December 7, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM. However, to avoid this conflict, the National Law University (NLU) Delhi rescheduled the AILET 2026 to December 14, 2025, while CLAT remains on December 7, 2025. This change allows candidates to appear for both prestigious law entrance exams without a date clash.
