  • Chapter-1: Electric Charges and Fields: Electric charges, Coulomb's law, electric field, electric dipole, Gauss's theorem.

  • Chapter-2: Electrostatic Potential and Capacitance: Electric potential, equipotential surfaces, capacitors, parallel plate capacitor, energy stored.

Unit II: Current Electricity

  • Chapter-3: Current Electricity: Electric current, drift velocity, Ohm's law, V-I characteristics, electrical energy and power, resistivity, Kirchhoff's rules, Wheatstone bridge.

Unit III: Magnetic Effects of Current and Magnetism

  • Chapter-4: Moving Charges and Magnetism: Magnetic field, Biot-Savart law, Ampere's law, force on moving charge, torque on current loop, moving coil galvanometer.

  • Chapter-5: Magnetism and Matter: Bar magnet, magnetic field intensity, magnetic properties of materials (Para-, dia-, ferro-magnetic).

Unit IV: Electromagnetic Induction and Alternating Currents

  • Chapter-6: Electromagnetic Induction: Faraday's laws, induced EMF and current, Lenz's Law, self and mutual induction.

  • Chapter-7: Alternating Current: AC current/voltage, reactance, impedance, LCR series circuit, resonance, power in AC circuits, AC generator, Transformer.

Unit V: Electromagnetic Waves

  • Chapter-8: Electromagnetic Waves: Displacement current, EM waves characteristics, transverse nature, EM spectrum, and uses.

Unit VI: Optics

  • Chapter-9: Ray Optics and Optical Instruments: Reflection, refraction, total internal reflection, lenses, optical instruments (microscopes, telescopes).

  • Chapter-10: Wave Optics: Wave front, Huygen's principle, interference, Young's double slit experiment, diffraction.

Unit VII: Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter

  • Chapter-11: Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter: Photoelectric effect, Einstein's equation, matter waves, de-Broglie relation.

Unit VIII: Atoms and Nuclei

  • Chapter 12: Atoms: Alpha-particle scattering, Rutherford's model, Bohr model of hydrogen atom, hydrogen line spectra.

  • Chapter-13: Nuclei: Composition and size of nucleus, nuclear force, mass-energy relation, binding energy, nuclear fission, nuclear fusion.

Unit IX: Electronic Devices
