TN SET 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the TN SET 2024, candidates must meet specific requirements. The following TN SET Eligibility Criteria will need to be fulfilled:- Candidates eligible for this test must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s Degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognized by UGC.
- Candidates from Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Caste (A) (SC(A)), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), and Third gender categories who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in their Master’s degree or equivalent examination are also eligible.
- iCandidates currently pursuing their Master’s degree or equivalent course, or those who have appeared for their qualifying Master’s degree (final year) examination with pending results, are allowed to apply.
- PhD degree holders whose Master’s Level examination was completed by 19 September 1991 (irrespective of the date of result declaration) are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks (from 55% to 50%) for TN SET.
- Candidates are advised to appear in the subject of their Post-Graduation only. If their Post Graduation subject is not covered in the list of TN SET subjects, they may appear in the UGC-NET/joint CSIR-UGC Test.
- There is no upper age limit for applying for TN SET.
TN SET 2024 Exam Pattern
The TNSET 2024 exam includes two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper I will be common to all candidates, while Paper II will be based on the PG subject chosen by the candidates from the TNSET list of subjects. Both papers will consist of objective type and multiple choice questions (MCQs) in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. There will be no break between the papers.
