Full Form of EPCO, Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO)

Aims and Objectives  

• Assist and advice the Government of MP in generation and execution of environmental policy for the state. 
• Create public awareness with respect to environmental aspects. 
• Assist and counsel the government of MP and other agencies in the management of the human environment including inter alia.
• Assist in environmental impact assessment studies. 
• Offer consulting services in regard to all matters pertaining to the environment. Collaborate with other national and international organizations working in the field of environment. 
• Through its wide-ranging, multi-pronged activities, it has played a pioneering and catalytic role in raising environmental consciousness.

Duties of its Officers and Employees

• Subject to the rules, regulations, Bylaws and Resolutions of the Governing Council of EPCO. The Executive Director is responsible for the proper administration of the organisation and for the conduct of the staff. 
• The Executive Director functions subject to the general supervision, direction, and control the Governing Council of EPCO. He is responsible for convening the meetings. He shall organize and direct all the projects and ensure their successful execution.  
• The Executive Director carry out day-to-day activities of the organisation as an administrative head.

• To perform all technical and scientific work to achieve the objectives of the EPCO. They also do the work assigned by the Executive Director. 

•  To manage the accounts of the EPCO. 

• Supporting staff: give assistance to the officers.

The Procedure Followed in the Decision-Making Process 

Work Operation of EPCO 

• Within the framework of Section 21 of the Societies Registri Karan Adhiniyam, 1973, acquire by gift, purchase, exchange, hire, or sale, transfer mortgage, demise, disposal of, or otherwise deal with any movable or immovable property, estate, or interest, building, and easement,  
• Borrow and raise money with or without securities. On the security of mortgage charge, movable or immovable properties concerned to EPCO, and hypothecation.
• Provide scholarships and research assistance, as well as institute environmental awards.
• invest and deal with any money of EPCO will be used in a productive manner. 
• levies charges, fees, or contributions on members or other persons for services rendered by EPCO. RTI Main Store as of January 1, 2023 make sure that any profits earned by EPCO through any of its activities shall be utilised solely for nurturing its aims and objects. It shall neither be distributed nor paid nor transferred directly or indirectly by way of dividends, bonuses, or otherwise to its members.
