  • Examinees are free to bring whatever materials they deem necessary.
  • During the document-checking process, the students may remain silent.
  • Examinees must remain seated for the entire duration of the test.
  • Students are not permitted to bring electronic devices into the testing room.
  • Students must submit their exam sheets with answers before leaving the testing room.

How to Study for the ESLC Exam?

Waiting until the last minute is not recommended. Some students may do well with cramming right before an exam, but that's probably not the best strategy for the rest of us.

  • Make a schedule for your study sessions to help you better manage your time.

Put the number of exams and their due dates in writing.

Then you should set up an appropriate study plan. You should find a balance between how much time you devote to studying for each exam and how much time you devote to studying for each.

  • Clear out some desk space to study.

Be sure to have a roomy spot to spread out your books and notes. Is there enough light where you are? Can you relax in this chair? Do you have your video games hidden?

  • Remove any potential distractions and ensure you are as relaxed and able to concentrate as possible.

While total silence may work best for some, others may benefit from soft music in the background. While some of us need complete silence and order to focus, others work best in a more chaotic setting. Take some time to figure out what works best for you.

  • Make use of diagrams and flowcharts.

When studying, visual aids can be invaluable. Start by listing everything you know about the subject at the outset, so you can see where your knowledge is lacking. As the exam approaches, you should streamline your study materials into one-page visual aids. Writing down your thoughts in this condensed format can help you easily remember what you need to know for the exam.

  • Reviewing Previous Tests

Taking practice tests similar to the actual exams is a great way to prepare for the real thing. By doing so, you can familiarise yourself with the test's structure, and if you keep track of your time, you can practice allocating sufficient time to each section.

  • Defend your reasoning to others.

There's no need for bothersome behaviour from parents or younger siblings during exam time. Put them to good use for yourself. Justify your reasoning for answering a specific question. That will aid in conceptualisation and bring to light where you may require additional practice.

  • Gather your pals together to study.

Hold a group study session with your pals. They may know the answers to your questions and vice versa. One of the most productive ways to test your mettle is to set a timer and force yourself to stay focused on the task at hand for that duration.

  • Schedule frequent breaks.

You might think that the more time you devote to studying, the better, but that's not always true. You wouldn't train for a marathon by trying to run nonstop. Similar research has found that frequent breaks aid in the long-term retention of information.

A successful study routine requires you to tailor it to your individual needs. If you perform better in the morning, try starting your studying day early and stopping for lunch. Or, if you work best at night, give yourself a more extended break during the day so that you can wind down when the evening rolls around.

If you'd rather be outside basking in the sun than squinting over a book, don't beat yourself up about it. Keep in mind that vitamin D is necessary for proper brain function.

  • Take a break and fuel your brain with some snacks.

You may think you deserve a treat or don't have time to cook, but what you eat significantly affects your energy and concentration. Fuel your body and mind with foods like fish, nuts, seeds, yoghurt, and blueberries which have been shown to improve focus and memory. On test day, it's just as important to fuel up properly with a meal consisting of foods that release their nutrients gradually. The sugar high will fade about an hour later, leaving you exhausted.

  • Schedule your exam day.

Don't wait until the night before the exam to start cramming and figuring out where you're supposed to go or what you need to bring with you. Plan your route and estimated travel time, and make sure you comply with all regulations. Try to simulate the journey in some way. If not, then directions should be written down.

Find out how long it will take you to get there, and then double it. You don't want to get there late because you ran late or because you got lost. If you know your classmates or friends are reliable, you could arrange to travel to the exam together.

  • Take in plenty of fluids.

Finally, keep in mind that optimal brain function depends on adequate hydration. Be sure to stay hydrated while studying and on exam day.
