Full Form of EVGC, What does EVGC mean

EVGC, which stands for educational and vocational guidance counsellor, looks after the counselling concerns at higher educational institutes. The job of an EVGC is to look after the well-being of youngsters and their mental health. There are different types of  centres where you can meet these EVGCs. This includes youth guidance centres. These youth guiding centres help transfer students from lower secondary school to youth education. Then there are centres for adult education and continuing training. These centres of a wide range of educational programmes and specialised vocational courses. Their centres offer guidance regarding employment and education. There are also regional guidance centres that provide information regarding higher education.

Every year, the Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board conducts exams to recruit educational and vocational guidance counsellors. A fixed number of vacancies are announced. Students have to apply online and submit an application form. There are a fixed number of vacancies for male and female students. Candidates must first give a written exam followed by an interview to be selected. You can apply at the official website of the Delhi government. 

The exam consists of mental ability and reasoning ability. It also has questions about numerical aptitude and data interpretation. Then you are asked questions from general awareness related to current news. Students have to attempt questions from the English section as well. There are questions from the Hindi section as well. Candidates are given 180 minutes to appear for the exam.

Examination Pattern for EVGC

Candidates have to first appear for a written exam. Written exams are the first stage of the recruitment process. If you can pass the written exam, you are then qualified for the interview round. You will be given 180 minutes to appear for the examination. The exam will consist of two sections. Section one will contain questions about mental reasoning, ability, general awareness, the English language in Hindi language, numerical aptitude and data interpretation. The total number of questions from section one will be a hundred. Section 2 will consist of questions from post-graduation qualification and teaching methodology requirements for the teaching. The paper will consist of a total of 300 questions. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. 

Eligibility Criteria for EVGC

First, you must have done your master's degree in psychology. This is a must as an EVGC. You will be offering Educational and vocational counselling to people. The upper limit for giving this exam is 30 years for students from the general category. After giving their written test, these results are announced in the merit list. The merit list is available on the official website of the Delhi government. All those candidates were selected or eligible for the interview round. All the candidates also have to give a typing test as well. Yeah, you must know that if selected for the post, you will be placed somewhere in Delhi. Selected candidates can earn somewhere around 25,000 per month initially.
