
Directorate General of Training (DGT) serves as the primary agency for national development and coordination of programs. They connected to vocational training, including women's vocational training. State governments or union territory administrations are in charge administratively and financially of industrial training institutes.
DGT also runs vocational training programs through field institutions under its authority. The DGT handles developing these national programs, particularly in uniform standards, and trade testing.

Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).
Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS), established in 1950, sought to reduce unemployment among educated youth by giving them employable skills, raise quantitatively and qualitatively industrial production through systematic training, and cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds of the younger generation.
In the area of vocational training, the Scheme is the most significant. Through the extensive network of ITIs dispersed across numerous States and Union Territories in the nation, it has moulded craftsmen to fulfil the country's current and future personnel needs.
Dual Training System.
The DST program aims to enable businesses and establishments to collaborate with public and private ITIs to undertake training programs in highly employable fields to meet their needs for skilled labour.
Apprenticeship training
The main goal of the 1961 Apprentices Act was to make the most of the facilities offered by the business for providing hands-on training to meet the demand for skilled labour in industry.
