What is RDO?
The RDO Stands for Rural Development Organization is a Registered, Non-Government, Non-Profit, and Women headed the organization. The NGO began in 1999 in Pudukkottai District, Tamilnadu.
The organization was established to help downtrodden poor people to achieve social equality, economic self-sustained, education, health, and basic human rights in the community.
However, the main motive of RDO is to provide education, women empowerment, and human rights to the abandoned categories. Their dream is to encourage income generation.
With this, they want to build poverty, violence, and discrimination-free community in the world.
Since its establishment, they provide services of “Identifying, Rescue and Rehabilitating the victims” by improving various developmental programs. Also, the Corporates, Government Bodies, agencies, and sponsors support these activities.
Vision of RDO
The vision of RDO is to promote a well-equipped community as educationally updated, economically empowered, and politically involved. With this, they provide access to all human rights without any kind of discrimination in society.
Mission of RDO
The mission of RDO is to recognize needy people and help them to achieve a bright future. The main focus is to help poor children, distressed women, disabled and unemployed youths, and victims.
Objectives of RDO
The objectives of the Rural Development Organization are as follows:
- To establish a friendly relationship among the needy targeted communities without any kind of discrimination.
- To protect the children from abuse and exploitation.
- To motivate women to make their own decisions and educate them about their basic rights.
- To enhance the source of income generation for downtrodden people.
- To ensure that the girl child receives education and status in the community in order to improve their standard of living.
- To provide education, good health, care, and support to helpless & hopeless children.
- To encourage the women and provide support to become self-independent.
- To promote rescue programmes in times of natural calamities, flood disasters, fires, tsunamis, storms, etc.
- To make sure that the children have basic human rights at all levels by providing the right education to the community.
- To discover the dropout school-going children and facilitate them to gain an education.
- To promote skill development training to girls, youths, and women so that they can access further education and employment.
- To prevent violence & exploitation against children and women.
- To promote education among the community about social justice to ensure harmony & peaceful life.

- Received Award of the best NGO in SHG promotion from District Collector, Pudukkottai.
- Honored by NABARD for the support in loan linkage programs.
- District Child Protection Office awarded the organization as the best NGO in Pudukkottai for Child Care & Protection.
- Received an Award from the Child Welfare Committee in Pudukkottai for its tremendous contribution in Child Safety & Security.
- District Child Protection Unit, Pudukkottai honored the organization's Director with the Best Social Worker award.
- Srilankan Refugees has awarded the organization with the best service in society.
- The organization director is one of the Sponsorship Foster Care Approval Committee-(SFCAC) members to facilitate education for poor children in the Pudukkottai district.
- The managing director of RDO is one of the Task Force Committee members, for Covid-19 affected family beneficiary children selection in the Pudukkottai district.
