What are Rites?
RITES, short for Rail India Technical and Economic Service, is called RITES Ltd. It is a completely owned subsidiary of the Government of India's Ministry of Railways and Indian Railways. It is an engineering consulting company with a focus on transportation infrastructure.
History of Rites
The Indian Railways founded the organization in 1974 with the initial mission of offering operators in India and overseas consulting services in rail transport management. Since then, RITES has expanded into providing planning and consulting services for various types of infrastructure, such as motorways, ports, airports, and urban planning.
A service for on-shore WDS6 Diesel Loco Leasing has been launched. In 2002, it received the rank of MINI RATNA. On every major continent, it has carried out projects in more than 62 nations. It was carrying out projects in more than 55 nations as of 2011. In July 2018, the business was listed on both of India's major stock exchanges.
