The full form of IBPS is the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection. It is an autonomous body formed under the Government of India that deals with the recruitment and management of human resources of several national banks of the country.

In addition, it manages selections to the regional rural banks of the nation as well.

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection or IBPS conducts regular exams for various posts to admit undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and Doctorate (Ph.D.) students at the ranks of officers of Group A, Group B, Group C, and Group D employees.

Additionally, IBPS provides a standardised system of assessment as well as result processing and forming services to various organisations.

What is IBPS ? Services

IBPS is the acronym for the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection

Under the Ministry of Finance (MoF) in the Government of India (GoI), the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) acts as a central recruitment agency for the purpose of recruitment of government officers and employees.

Generally, these government bankers are employed in the various national banks of the country. However, recruitments are also made for bankers to serve in the regional rural banks of the country.

Services

Significantly, the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection's major purpose is to recruit banking personnel (Officers, clerks, and assistants) to serve as government employees in the country's national banks.

IBPS conducts examinations for recruitment and promotion to banks and other financial institutions. It organises workshops and training programs for senior officers to develop observational skills.

Further, IBPS also provides services to regional rural banks and various private banks of the country and extends its services to several foreign banks.

This includes other financial institutions such as cooperative banks, academic institutes, private and public-sector companies, and insurance companies.

Major IBPS Exams

Several exams are conducted by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection each year, opening a wide range of opportunities for students to serve in government banks and establish successful careers.

Earlier, students were required to take different exams for different banks. However, since 2012, IBPS has organised a range of exams every year for different positions. This makes the selection process easy and un-messy.

Notably, the IBPS exams are conducted via four different processes. These are CRP PO/MT, CRP RRBs, CRP Clerical, and CRP Specialist Officers.

IBPS PO

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Common Written Examination (CRP-PO/MT) for the recruitment of candidates for the post of Probationary Officer (PO) and Management Trainee (MT) vacancy in the public sector banks (PSB).

The IBPS Clerk exam is conducted in online mode. Further, the procedure of selection is done in two stages. These include the Preliminary and the Mains examination.

Candidates must be graduates from a recognized university to be eligible for this exam. Moreover, the age limit of this exam lies from 20 to 28 years of age

IBPS RRB Office Assistant and Officers

IBPS election conducts the IBPS RRB examination every year to recruit bank personnel to the various Regional Rural Banks (RRB) of the country.

Recruitment is made at both IBPS RRB Office Assistant (Clerk) and IBPS RRB Officer Cadre levels.

For RRB office assistants, the exam is organized in two stages: Preliminary and Mains. However, for RRB officers, an interview round is conducted in addition to the Preliminary and Mains examination.
