JACA stands for Jharkhand State Cricket Association. JSCA is the governing body of cricket in the state of Jharkhand. It was established in the year 2001. It is responsible for the state's promotion, development, and administration of cricket.

The JSCA is affiliated with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). It actively promotes cricket in the state of Jharkhand. The association has been providing a platform for young cricketers in the state to showcase their talent and has played a major role in developing cricket infrastructure in the state.

Headquarter

The headquarters of JACA is in Ranchi, the capital city of Jharkhand, and has its own cricket stadium, the JSCA International Cricket Stadium. The stadium, inaugurated in 2011, has a seating capacity of 39,000 and has hosted several international cricket matches, including Test matches, One Day Internationals (ODIs), and T20 Internationals.

History of JSCA 

Looking back at the history of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association, there is a sense of pride and admiration. JSCA was established in 2001,  after the formation of Jharkhand as a separate state from Bihar, while the Bihar Cricket Association was established much earlier, in 1935. So they share common roots in their history. 

The Bihar Cricket Association was established in 1935 at Jamshedpur. A.M. Hayman was the president of this association, and the other board members consisted of  K A D Naoroji and Professor Moinul Huq as Vice President and N Quereshi as Secretary. 

Bihar Cricket Association played its first Ranji Trophy match in 1937 against the Cricket Association of Bengal and Assam. This was a great achievement for the Bihar Cricket Association.

Bihar defeated Bengal to become the East-Zone champion in 1959-60 and finally entered the semi-finals against Mysore. They had a good chance of winning, but Bihar lost this match against Mysore.

Role of JSCA 

The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) plays a crucial role in the development, promotion, and administration of cricket in the state of Jharkhand. The association has played a significant role in the development of cricket infrastructure in the state.

  • Varun Aaron: Aaron is a fast bowler who has played for India in all three formats of the game. He is well known as he produces high speeds and swings the ball.
  • Saurabh Tiwary: Tiwary is a left-handed middle-order batsman who has played for the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League. He has also represented Jharkhand in domestic cricket.
  • Ishan Kishan: Kishan is a wicketkeeper-batsman who has played for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL. He made his international debut for India in 2021 and he also represented Jharkhand in domestic cricket.
