PSI

Full form of PSI is Police Sub-Inspector.

PSI is an acronym for this position. The lowest-ranking police officer authorized to present a charge sheet in court is a police sub-inspector or SI. In the Indian Police Force, it is usually ranked. The British introduced it as a police rank in India and other South Asian nations.

Upholding the law and dealing with border security issues might be among their job duties. They are below an inspector and above an assistant sub-inspector. Typically, a PSI is the first officer to investigate. He frequently supervises a small group of police officers.

Under PSI, police officers can only conduct investigations on their behalf and cannot pursue charges. Two stars and a ribbon with red and blue stripes located at the outer edge of the shoulder straps make up a sub-inspectors rank badge.

An SI is in charge of his assigned police station, is in charge of how the station is usually run and is in charge of keeping peace and order in his area of responsibility. SI can look into any case that falls under the jurisdiction of his police station.

However, an SI cannot examine cases assigned to higher-ranking police officers. The constables below them and the more senior members of the police force are also connected through the sub-inspectors.

The PSI is in charge of a police station or other commanding outpost and helps the station's higher-ups with any criminal investigation. He is in charge of lower-ranking employees like constables and head constables.
