PSI STI ASO

This is a combined exam for the three posts in the police department. It is mainly Police Sub Inspector (PSI), State Tax Inspector (STI), and Assistant Section Officer (ASO). The State Public Service Commission conducts it. This exam is often called a Joint pre-examination called Mpsc Subordinate Services(Combined).

In addition, this exam is conducted by the Maharastra Public Service Commission (MPSC). It is to recruit candidates for the positions of Police Sub-Inspector, State Tax Inspector, and Assistant Section Officer in the Maharastra government.

All three exams follow a similar three-stage pattern, with preliminary, Main Exam, and Interview. Candidates who qualify for the preliminary exam are eligible for the mains exam. The final round is Interview. Candidates who clear all three stages are selected for the respective positions.

PSI ( Police Sub Inspector)

The Mpsc conducts the PSI exam to recruit candidates for the position of Police Sub Inspector in the Maharastra Police Department. The exam contains objective-based questions. It assesses the candidate’s knowledge through General Knowledge, Reasoning, Language, and Numerical Ability.

State Tax Inspector (STI)

The Sti exam is conducted to recruit candidates as State Tax Inspectors in Maharastra Finance Department. This is a Group B post in Maharastra.  They are responsible for various works like looking for financial accounts and documents. The exam consists of MCQ-based questions. This exam also generally consists of the same pattern as the Psi.

Assistant Section Officer (ASI)

This exam is conducted for the post of Assistant Section Officer in Maharastra. Their main work is making reports, routine, drafting, and supporting the Ifs officials daily. This exam is also objective-based. This post falls under the Group B position in the service.

Eligibility Criteria For PSI STI ASO

The eligibility criteria for the PSI STI ASO exam are given below:

  • Candidates must have a graduation degree from a recognised university.
  • The minimum age to be eligible is 18 years.
  • The maximum age to be eligible is 38 years.
  • There is no limitation on number of attempts for the PSI STI ASO exam.
  • The candidate must be a citizen of India.

Exam Structure for PSI STI ASO

The exam structure for PSI STI ASO is given below:

  • There is only one preliminary question paper in the exam.
  • There are two Mains papers in the exam.
  • All the papers are objective-based in this exam.
  • The Preliminary exam is for 100 marks.
  • The Mains consist of 2 papers for 200 marks.
  • There is also Physical Test and Interview for the PSI.

  • Preliminary Exam:

The preliminary exam is the first step in the exam. It is often considered the first screening test for candidates. This exam consists of the MCQs based questions and is a qualifying round. Candidates who clear this round are eligible for the Main exam.

  • Mains Exam:

Candidates who clear the first round are eligible for this round of the exam. This exam consists of descriptive-type questions. It assesses the candidate’s amount of knowledge about their domain subjects. They also want to see their problem-solving skills and analytical ability in this round.

  • Interview:

The final stage of this exam is the interview round. This round has yet to have a defined syllabus. Instead, this round can be about judging the candidate’s communication skills, personal traits, and other things required for the post.

Salary Expectations In PSI STI ASO Exam

The salary expectations for the PSI STI ASO exam can vary depending on the state and government rules—however, the general starting salary ranges from 35,000 to Rs. 50,000 per month. 

In addition, there are also many allowances offered by the government for the officers appointed in any of the three roles. Also, with experience, promotion, and allowance included,, the salary can go up to 1 lakh per month or more.
