VPDO

The Village Panchayat Development Officer (VPDO) is a government official responsible for managing the development responsibilities in the village. The State government appoints the Vpdo. They are mainly responsible for implementing various development programs and schemes in the village. They need to look for their basic needs and make them available with all the modern facilities available to ordinary citizens in India.

In addition, the VPDO is also responsible for maintaining records of all development programs and schemes in their village area. They also have to monitor that the schemes are well implemented and effective. They work closely with government officials to ensure the programs are well implemented.

  • VPDO is responsible for maintaining records of all the development programs and schemes implemented in the village.

VPDO Eligibility Criteria

Every candidate applying for the VPDO exam must fulfil the eligibility criteria set by the state government. However, below are some of the eligibility criteria:

  • Candidates must be in between 21 years to at most 42 years of age. However, there are some relaxations offered to candidates belonging to specific categories. Especially backward categories like SC, ST, etc.
  • Also, candidate must have passed their graduation from any recognised university. Also, students must have a CCC certificate to prove their computer proficiency.
  • In addition, candidates must be a citizen of India and should be able to provide citizenship documents when necessary.

How To Apply for Vpdo Exam?

Below are the steps for applying for VPDO positions:

  • Go to the state government's official website you want to apply to.
  • Select the Registration option and click it.
  • Fill out all the fields carefully in the application form. Also, attach the scanned copy of the documents wherever necessary.
  • Revise the details filled in and then click on the Submit button.
  • You will then be taken to the payment portal after this. Pay the application fee, and once done, your application is completed.
  • Print out the submitted application and payment receipt for future reference.

However, the required documents can be Id proof, age proof, education proof, and marks sheet. Address proof, cast certificate, and more. Keep it with you, as it can be needed at any time. Keep a copy of all the essential documents during the entire process.

VPDO Application Fee

The application fee for the VPDO is very nominal. However, candidates from the General and Obc categories must pay Rs. 300/- only as an application fee. Also, candidates from SC, ST, and PWD categories only pay an amount of Rs. 150 as an application fee.

In addition, candidates must ensure they pay the fee before the deadline. Failing to do so will lead to the rejection of your application form. Also, there are different modes of payment online. It includes payment through debit card, credit card, or net banking.

VPDO Selection Process

The selection procedure follows a step-by-step format similar to other exams in India. The candidate must pass the written exams before moving on to other processes like a medical exam and document verification. 

However, the steps for the application process are mentioned below:

  • The exam consists of a written examination. It is followed by document verification and medical examination too.
  • Exams can be attempted in English and Hindi as per the candidate's choice. However, the language exam will not have this option.
  • The exam contains 100 questions. The questions are objective-type questions.
  • The duration of the exam is of 2 hours (120 minutes).
  • There will also be negative markings in the Vpdo exam. For each wrong answer candidate will lose 0.25 marks.
  • However, for each correct answer, candidates will get one mark.
  • Also, no mark deduction for unattempted questions.

In addition, candidates who qualify for the written exam will have to go through document verification and medical examination. Also, they will be disputed as VPDOs in any one district of the state.

VPDO Exam Pattern

The exam pattern is the most critical aspect in preparation for the VPDO post. Candidates must go through the exam pattern and plan according to it. Below given are some of the important points related to the Vpdo exam pattern:

  • A total of 100 points are awarded for the exam.
  • The total duration of the exam is 120 minutes.
  • Also, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer attempted.
  • In addition, there will be no negative markings for the unattempted question.
  • The question paper will be in two languages English and Hindi. Candidate can attempt in any one of these languages. However, there will be no option for language papers.

The salary of Vpdo is based on a Level-4 pay scale. It could range from Rs. 25000 to Rs. 81000. The appointed officer also enjoys several benefits, allowances, and perks. The list includes the Dearness Allowance, Healthcare Allowance, Travel Allowance, and more. Also, the allowances are revised every year.
