
The full form of WBSETCL stands for West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited. It is a state-owned electricity transmission utility company in the Indian state of West Bengal.
WBSETCL is regulated by the West Bengal Electricity Regulatory Commission (WBERC), and it plays a crucial role in ensuring reliable and uninterrupted power supply to consumers across the state. The company is committed to adopting the latest technologies and practices to enhance the efficiency and reliability of the power transmission system.
WBSETCL is responsible for the transmission of electricity from generating stations to distribution networks, and it operates and maintains the high- voltage transmission network in the state. The company was formed in 2007 after the unbundling of the West Bengal State Electricity Board.
With effect from April 1, 2007, the GoWB split the former West Bengal State Electricity Board (WBSEB) into the West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Limited (WBSETCL) and West Bengal State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (WBSEDCL), two operationally independent state-owned corporations. The transmission of electricity from power plants to load centres via a transmission network running at 400kV, 220kV, 132kV, and 66kV across West Bengal is the responsibility of WBSETCL. The Electricity Act of 2003 envisages three separate functional tasks, all of which WBSETCL is now doing.

The overall duration of the training will be 12 months, beginning on the date of completion of the Apprenticeship Contract.
