• Both Indian and foreign students are eligible to apply for MTech admission at IIT Jammu. Foreign students must hold a first-division or first-class degree in their bachelor’s and secure a confirmed admission offer from a Times or QS-ranked foreign university.
• Indian students, on the other hand, should possess a BTech or B.E. degree from a recognized university with a minimum 6.0 CGPA or 60% marks. Eligible candidates are required to qualify the GATE exam and proceed to apply for the IIT Jammu MTech program through the institute’s official website, incurring a nominal application fee of Rs. 300.

1) Tunnel Engineering:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in Civil Engineering or Earth Science.
• Minimum Marks: A minimum of 65% marks in aggregate or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.

2) Data Science:

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics.
• Additional Qualifications: Candidates with AMIE or Grad IETE qualifications are also considered, subject to performance in AMIE/Grad IETE. Completion of 24 valid credits specified by the concerned committee along with a valid GATE score is required.

3) Information Security:

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, and Statistics.

4) Communications and Signal Processing:

• Qualification: BE/B.Tech in ECE/EIE/EEE/ETC/EE.
• First-Class Requirement: First class throughout the educational qualification with a 5% relaxation in 10th or 12th.
• Special Consideration: Consideration for candidates with a B.E./B.Tech. degree from an IIT with a CGPA of 8.0 and a valid GATE score.
• Secondary and Senior Secondary Requirement: A minimum of 60% marks or a CGPA of 6.0 on a 10.00 point scale in secondary (Xth) and senior secondary (XIIth) school examinations. A relaxation of 5% marks or equivalent is granted in either secondary or senior secondary exams.

5) Thermal and Energy Systems Engineering:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech./AMIE in Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum Marks: A minimum of 65% marks in aggregate or a CGPA of 6.5 on a 10-point scale.

6) Computer Technology:

• Qualification: B.Tech/B.E./M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering/Information, Technology/Electronics, Engineering/Mathematics, and Statistics/Electronics and Communication Engineering/Electronics and Electronics Engineering.
