Candidates can complete the IIT JAM 2027 online application process through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS). The application form should be filled out with correct details.
Visit jam.iitkgp.ac.in and open the JOAPS registration link when the application window opens.
Create a new account by entering the required details. Candidates should keep their login details safe for future use.
Log in to the JOAPS account and enter personal, contact and educational details. All details should be checked before submitting the form.
Candidates can appear for one or two test papers. Two papers can be selected only when they are held in different sessions.
The forenoon session from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM will have Chemistry (CY), Geology (GG) and Mathematics (MA).
The afternoon session from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM will have Biotechnology (BT), Economics (EN), Mathematical Statistics (MS) and Physics (PH).
Candidates need to select three test cities from the same exam zone. The choices should be made carefully while filling out the application form.
Candidates need to upload a clear passport-size photograph and signature. A Class 10 certificate or marksheet is also required as proof of date of birth.
Candidates from reserved categories should upload the required category certificate. PwD candidates can upload the PwD certificate or UDID card, where applicable.
OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2026.
Pay the required application fee through the available online payment method. The fee depends on the candidate's category and the number of test papers selected.
Check all details once again and submit the application form. After successful submission, download or save a copy of the form and payment receipt.
IIT JAM 2027 Application Fee is based on the category and number of test papers. A correction fee of ₹300 will apply for changes such as test paper, category, gender, city or date of birth during the correction window. The application fee is non-refundable.

Indian and foreign nationals can apply for IIT JAM 2027. There is no age limit for the exam.
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are in the final year of their qualifying degree can apply, subject to the required educational conditions.
IIT JAM scores can be used for admission to programmes such as M.Sc., M.Sc. (Tech), M.S. Research, M.Sc.-M.Tech. Dual Degree, Joint M.Sc.-Ph.D. and Integrated PhD programmes.
