Not every student appearing or getting admission through JEE Advanced is eligible for IIT admission. The Eligibility criteria for the Colleges Accepting JEE Advanced Score are:
Qualification: The candidate must qualify JEE Main and should be in the top rank list of the JEE Main exam to be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced.
Attempts: The candidate is eligible to attempt JEE Advanced exam a maximum of two times, and these two attempts must be in consecutive years.
Marks in 12th: The candidate should have passed Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
Minimum Marks for IIT Admission: The cut-off for IITs changes every year. A candidate must fulfil the subject-wise cut-off and the overall cut-off to be eligible for admission.
Branch-wise Cutoff: Even if a student qualifies for JEE Advanced, they can only get admission if they clear the IIT cut-off during JoSAA counselling for their chosen branch.
