IIIT Sonepat B.Tech Admission 2026 is conducted through JoSAA and CSAB counselling based on candidates’ performance in JEE Main 2026. The institute does not issue any separate IIIT Sonepat application form 2026, as the entire admission process is managed centrally via the official JoSAA portal. To participate in IIIT Sonepat admission 2026, eligible candidates must register on the JoSAA website, complete the choice filling process for institutes and preferred B.Tech programs, and take part in the IIIT Sonepat JoSAA counselling rounds. The counselling process involves multiple rounds, during which seat allocation is done based on JEE Main ranks, category, and candidates’ preferences.
Those who do not secure a seat through JoSAA can also participate in the IIIT Sonepat CSAB seat allocation rounds, which offer additional chances of admission through special or spot rounds. The complete schedule for IIIT Sonepat B.Tech Admission 2026, including registration dates, choice filling, and seat allotment announcements, will be published on the official JoSAA and CSAB websites.
To participate in the admission process, candidates must first meet the IIIT Sonepat B.Tech eligibility criteria. As per the official guidelines:
Must have passed Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics, and one of Chemistry/Biology/Biotechnology/Technical Vocational subjects
Must have a valid JEE Main 2026 score and All India Rank.
Fulfilling these eligibility conditions is mandatory for JoSAA counselling and seat allotment.
Reserved category candidates may receive relaxation as per government norms.
To be eligible for B.Tech admission, candidates must fulfill the IIIT Sonepat 75% HSC criteria as set by JoSAA.
General, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates must score at least 75% in Class 12 board exams.
This requirement is valid across all JoSAA-recognized boards.
Candidates scoring below 75% may still be eligible if they are in the top 20 percentile of their respective board.
JoSAA provides relaxed eligibility for SC/ST/PwD candidates applying to IIIT Sonepat.
Candidates belonging to SC, ST, or PwD categories must score at least 65% marks in their Class 12 board examination.
This criterion is valid across all approved central and state education boards.
Alternatively, they can also qualify by being in the top 20 percentile of their board and category.
Candidates must satisfy the XII board percentage and percentile criteria to qualify for IIIT Sonepat B.Tech admission.
Two ways to be eligible:
Score 75% (General/EWS/OBC) or 65% (SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12, OR
Rank among the top 20% of students in your respective board and category.
Percentile is calculated based on aggregate marks in five core subjects.
JoSAA publishes the board-wise percentile cutoffs every year.
The IIIT Sonepat eligibility percentage is category-specific and must be met along with JEE Main qualifications.
General/OBC-NCL/EWS: Minimum 75% marks in Class 12.
SC/ST/PwD: Minimum 65% marks in Class 12.
Candidates can also qualify through the top 20 percentile rule.
Having a valid JEE Main 2026 score is mandatory for all applicants.
At the time of reporting and admission, candidates must carry all the required documents for IIIT Sonepat admission as specified by JoSAA. These documents are essential for verification and final seat confirmation. Below is the complete list of documents that candidates need to submit:
Seat acceptance letter issued by JoSAA
Receipt of seat acceptance fee payment
Original and photocopies of SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) mark sheets
JEE Main Scorecard

While both JoSAA and CSAB are centralized counselling bodies for engineering admissions in India, they serve different purposes and operate in different phases of the admission process. It is important for candidates aiming for admission to IITs, NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs through JEE Main or JEE Advanced to understand the key differences between JoSAA and CSAB. JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) conducts the main rounds of counselling for admissions to IITs, NITs, IIITs, IIEST, and other GFTIs based on JEE Main and JEE Advanced ranks. In contrast, CSAB (Central Seat Allocation Board) organizes special and spot counselling rounds to fill seats left vacant after JoSAA rounds, specifically for NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, excluding IITs.
