CSAB Counselling 2025 : Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has announced the CSAB Counselling 2025 schedule on its official website csab.nic.in. The counselling process will be conducted in three categories: CSAB NEUT, CSAB Special, and CSAB Supernumerary, all based on JEE Main 2025 ranks.

The CSAB Special Rounds, held to fill vacant seats in the NIT+ system after JoSAA counselling, will begin with registration on July 30, 2025. Similarly, the CSAB Supernumerary Round, meant for foreign nationals and specific reserved categories, will start its registration on August 24, 2025. However, the schedule for the CSAB NEUT Round (for candidates from North Eastern States and some Union Territories) is yet to be released.

The CSAB 2025 counselling process includes fresh registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment, fee payment, and document verification. It is important to note that CSAB rounds are separate from JoSAA, and candidates who didn’t get a seat through JoSAA can still apply.

What is CSAB Counselling?

CSAB counselling 2025 will be conducted via three different channels: Special, NEUT (for North Eastern and Union Territories), and Supernumerary. This is done for candidates who could not find a seat under the JoSAA counselling rounds.

Through CSAB, such students can still take admission in top-notch institutes like NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs. It is a second chance to get admission into top technical institutes.

CSAB Admission Counselling 2025

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) will carry out the CSAB 2025 counselling procedure for filling the seats vacant under the NIT+ system in two special rounds apart from these. These two special rounds will be held after completing all JoSAA 2025 counselling rounds and will be conducted on the basis of the JEE Main 2025 ranks.

There are two specific types of rounds in CSAB:

• CSAB Supernumerary Round: This special round is designated for students belonging to Union Territories such as Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep, Daman & Diu, and Dadra & Nagar Haveli. CSAB NEUT round will take place at select NITs, including institutions such as NIT Durgapur, NIT Calicut, and SVNIT Surat.

• CSAB NEUT Round: This admission round is organized to provide seat allotment opportunities to students hailing from the North-Eastern states and certain Union Territories.

CSAB 2025 Counselling Schedule

The schedule includes important dates for both the Special Rounds and Supernumerary Round. Who Can Apply for CSAB 2025 Counselling?

Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) has published the official eligibility criteria for CSAB Counselling 2025 in its information brochure available on csab.nic.in.Candidates fulfilling the required eligibility criteria are allowed to take part in the CSAB 2025 counselling process. Students who qualified for JoSAA counselling under the NIT+ system through JEE Main 2025 are also eligible for the CSAB Special Rounds.

The following groups of applicants are eligible for CSAB counselling 2025:

• Applicants who did not participate in JoSAA rounds 2025 but meet CSAB eligibility norms.
• Applicants who applied to JoSAA but were allotted no seat.
• Applicants who got seats under JoSAA 2025 but lost a seat due to the failure of the seat acceptance fee.
• Candidates who chose the 'Exit' option in the JoSAA 2025 counselling process.
• Candidates who were allotted seats in IITS or NIT+ colleges through JoSAA but whose seats were cancelled because of document verification problems, or withdrew admission, or were admitted to some other institution.
• Candidates who were allotted in NIT+ institutes through JoSAA, paid the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) and Partial Admission Fee (PAF), and have already joined the institute.
• Candidates who were allotted through JoSAA in the NIT+ system but withdrew their seat allotment later.

Step-by-Step Guide to CSAB 2025 Counselling

Applicants may follow the steps given below to know the process of CSAB 2025 counselling. Counselling will be conducted in some major stages:

Online Registration

• Shortlisted applicants need to register for CSAB 2025 online through JEE Main 2025 application number and password. Registration needs to be done before the date specified in the official schedule.

• While registering, the candidates need to upload scanned copies of their educational documents and category-related documents (if any). The academic and personal information will be auto-filled from  JEE Main application form.

Following is the list of documents that need to be uploaded while registering:

• Class 10 Certificate (for verification of Date of Birth)

• Class 12 Marksheet

• Valid category certificate (Gen-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST) if applicable

• PwD certificate (if any) in the given format from a competent authority

• Passport copy scanned for NRI candidates

• OCI/PIO card for OCI/PIO candidates

• Bank account details and Class 12 marksheet (out of 500)

Payment of CSAB Counselling Fee

Once registered, candidates must submit the Special Round Enrolment Fee to proceed further.This payment can be made through:

• Net Banking

• Debit/Credit Card

• State Bank of India e-Challan

Only after fee payment will the candidate’s registration be considered complete for the CSAB special rounds.

Online Choice Filling and Locking

Once payment of fee has been completed, candidates are required to lock and fill afresh their preferences. Preferences submitted by candidates in rounds of JoSAA will be excluded for special rounds of CSAB 2025. Keep in mind to:

1. Select and prioritize the favorite institutes and branches carefully.

2. Lock preferences before deadlines.

3. Save a copy and download the locked choices.

CSAB Seat Allotment Process

The CSAB 2025 seat allotment result will be made available on the official website. Candidates can check their allotment status on the CSAB portal by logging in using their credentials. Seat allotment is done on the basis of JEE Main 2025 ranks.

After being allotted a seat, candidates will have to select one of the following options:

1. Freeze – Accept the allotted seat and discontinue further counselling rounds.

2. Float – Accept the seat but keep oneself open to higher preferences in the next rounds.

3. Slide – Accept the seat and keep oneself open to higher-preferred courses at the same institute.

Physical Reporting at the Allotted Institute

Candidates allotted a seat in CSAB Special Round 1 or 2 must report physically to the allotted institute to confirm their admission. They are required to:

• Complete all formalities.

• Pay any remaining balance fees (if applicable).
