IIT Kanpur BTech Admission Without JEE: From the upcoming academic year, the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (IIT-K) is offering a new way for students to get B.Tech and BS admission without JEE Main and Advanced. Now, students who do score well in international Olympiads can apply for certain courses at IIT Kanpur, like Computer Science, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Economics, and Mathematics.

Important Dates For IIT Kanpur BTech Admission

Eligibility Criteria For IIT Kanpur BTech Admission

• Age Requirement : Applicants must be born on or after October 1, 2000, to meet the age eligibility for IIT Kanpur B.Tech admission through Olympiads. However, students belonging to the SC, ST, and PwD categories are eligible for a five-year age relaxation, meaning they must be born on or after October 1, 1995.
• Year of Passing : Students should have completed their Class 12th (or equivalent) exams for the first time either in the admission year or the year before, with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as mandatory subjects.
• Olympiad Training : Applicants must have participated in the relevant Olympiad training camp for the subject they are applying for.
• Prior IIT Admission : Students who were previously admitted to any Indian Institute of Technology through JoSAA or had their admission canceled are not eligible for IIT Kanpur B.Tech admission through Olympiads.

Selection Process For IIT Kanpur BTech Admission

• Shortlisting Based on Olympiad Rankings : Each department at IIT Kanpur will first look at the Olympiad rankings of all the applicants. Based on these rankings, the departments will shortlist students who have performed exceptionally well in their respective subjects, such as Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or Informatics.
• Written Examination and Interview : After being shortlisted, students will have to take a mandatory written examination. This exam is important for all applicants. In some cases, applicants may also be required to attend an interview, depending on the department’s requirements.
