Steps To Overcome Aadhaar Card Name Mismatch Issue

NTA has made slight modifications to the online JEE Main application form to assist candidates in completing it without any obstacles.

  • After closing the above Pop-up box, a new window will appear on the screen to process with Aadhaar authentication. In this step, candidates need to enter their name exactly as it appears on their Aadhaar card.
  • Both the name on the educational certificate and the aadhaar card will be captured during  this process, allowing the candidate to continue with the application form.

  • No Optional Questions : In Paper 1, Section B will not have optional questions anymore. There will be 5 questions in this section, and test takers must answer all of them. This rule also applies to Papers 2A and 2B, where the Mathematics section will not include optional questions.

JEE Main 2025 New Rules Announced for Score Tie-Breaking Policy

One of the major JEE Main 2025 new rules that has been recently introduced by NTA is particularly concerning the score tie-breaking policy. If two students score the same marks, the method for determining who gets the better rank has been updated as explained below for aspirants ease of understanding:
  • Removal of Age Factor : In the previous years, age was considered in the tie-breaking process. However, starting from JEE Main 2025, age has been removed from the calculation. This means that if two applicants have equal scores, their age will no longer be a factor in deciding their ranks.
  • Current Tie-Breaking Steps : The New JEE Main 2025 Tie-Breaking Policy now follows the below-outlined criteria:
    • Higher score in Mathematics : If there is a tie, the student with the higher score in Mathematics will be given a better rank.
    • Next, score in Physics : If scores in Mathematics are also equal, the Physics score will be considered.
    • Next, score in Chemistry : If Mathematics and Physics scores are the same, the Chemistry score will be next.
    • Correct to Wrong Answers Ratio : If there is still a tie, the applicants will be ranked based on the lower ratio of correct answers to wrong answers across all subjects, followed by Mathematics, Physics, and then Chemistry.
    • Same Rank for Remaining Applicants : If a tie still exists after these criteria, applicants will be assigned the same rank.
The NTA released these guidelines on October 28, along with the start of the JEE Main Registration 2025 . The change in the tie-breaking policy aims to create a fairer ranking system for applicants with equal scores, ensuring that they are evaluated based on their performance in core subjects rather than their age or application number.

JEE Main 2025 Change in Official Website

Last year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) changed the website from the old domain to a new one, which was jeemain.nta.ac.in. However, for JEE Main 2025, the agency has reverted back to the original website, jeemain.nta.nic.in . It is crucial that aspirants note this change and ensure they use the correct website for filling out the JEE Main Application Form 2025 and to stay updated with all official information related to the forthcoming examination.

JEE Main 2025 New Rules Announced for Divyang/PWD Applicants

The JEE Main 2025 exam conducting authority, NTA, has introduced important new rules to assist students with disabilities (PwD) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). The below-highlighted JEE Main 2025 new rules for divyang (PWD) applicants aim to ensure that all test takers have a fair chance to perform their best during the exam:
  • Extra Time: PwD and PwBD applicants will receive an additional hour to complete the JEE Main exam. This means they will have a total of four hours instead of the usual three hours.
  • Scribe Assistance: Applicants who require assistance can bring a scribe to help them during the exam. They need to present the required certificates that allow them to use a scribe.
  • Compensatory Time: The previously termed “extra time” is now called “compensatory time.” This means that applicants using a scribe will get at least 20 minutes of extra time for every hour of the exam.
  • General Additional Time: All applicants with benchmark disabilities are eligible for an extra hour during the three-hour exam, whether or not they use a scribe.
  • Shorter Exams: For exams shorter than an hour, extra time will be allocated in smaller increments, but it must be at least five minutes.
These guidelines are designed to create a more fair and equal examination process for JEE Main 2025, allowing students with disabilities to showcase their skills effectively.
