JEE Main 2025 April 8 exam was rated as 'moderate to tough' overall. The difficulty levels in each subject varied, with Physics being easy to moderate, Chemistry being easy, and Mathematics being easy but lengthy. Here’s a brief overview of each subject:

  • Physics: The Physics section was considered easy to moderate. It included a mix of theory and numerical-based questions. The important topics were Mechanics, Modern Physics, Electrostatics, and Ray Optics. While the section was manageable, it did require some careful attention to formulas.

  • Chemistry: Chemistry was the easiest section. Most questions were theory-based and followed the NCERT syllabus. Organic Chemistry was the main focus, followed by Inorganic Chemistry, with fewer questions from Physical Chemistry. This section was straightforward and easy for those who studied the basics well.

  • Mathematics:  Mathematics was the most time-consuming section. While the questions were not difficult, they required long calculations. Topics like 3D Geometry, Vectors, and Conic Sections were featured prominently. Although the questions were easy, they tested how well students could manage their time during the exam.4

JEE Main 2025 Session 2 April 8 Question Paper: Marking Scheme

Applicants appearing for the JEE Main 2025 April 8 exam must be aware of the jee main marking scheme and question distribution. The B.E./B.Tech paper carries a total of 300 marks and includes three subjects — Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

  • Each subject is divided into two sections. Section A contains 20 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), and Section B includes 5 Numerical Value Questions (NVQs). So, each subject has 25 questions, making a total of 75 questions in the entire paper.

  • For every correct answer, 4 marks are awarded. In the case of MCQs, 1 mark is deducted for each incorrect answer. However, there is no negative marking for wrong answers in the numerical value questions.

  • Each subject carries 100 marks. So, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics all have equal weightage in terms of marks. Understanding this pattern helps applicants manage their time better and choose questions wisely during the exam.
