Last Date for JEE Main 2026 Registration: The National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, conducts the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) for admission to premier engineering, architecture, and planning courses across India. JEE Main includes two papers: Paper 1 for B.E./B.Tech programs offered by NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and participating state-funded institutions, and Paper 2 for admission to B.Arch and B.Planning programs. It also serves as the qualifying test for JEE Advanced, which leads to admissions in IITs. For the academic year 2026–27, JEE Main will be held in two sessions—January and April 2026—with detailed guidelines released for Session 1.
The National Testing Agency has officially released the complete schedule for JEE Main 2026 Session 1, enabling lakhs of engineering aspirants to begin their application process. The registration window for the January session begins on 31 October 2025 and remains open until 27 November 2025, with the portal accepting applications up to 9:00 PM on the last date. This date marks the final opportunity for candidates to fill in personal details, upload documents, and choose preferred exam cities.
Along with the application deadline, NTA has also specified the final timing for fee payment. Candidates must complete the successful transaction of the examination fee by 27 November 2025 (up to 11:50 PM) through credit/debit card, net-banking, or UPI. Any failure in payment within the stipulated time will result in the application being rejected, even if the form has been submitted.

JEE Main is the largest engineering entrance exam in India, with over 10–12 lakh candidates appearing every year. Missing the registration deadline for Session 1 may limit a student's chances, particularly for those aiming for early attempt benefits such as:
Better exam confidence
Familiarity with the exam pattern
Chance to improve scores in Session 2
Eligibility for JEE Advanced based on January performance
Because the competition is intense, completing the registration well before the last date ensures that technical issues, server load, or payment errors do not cause last-minute problems.
JEE Main 2026 will be conducted in 13 languages:
English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The exam will be held in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode for all sections except the Drawing Test of Paper 2A, which will be conducted offline on an A4 drawing sheet.
Candidates who are unable to apply for Session 1 will still have an opportunity to register for Session 2 (April 2026). A separate notification with new dates will be issued before the second session registration begins. Students who apply for Session 1 can also re-apply for Session 2 using the same application number.
