There are four compulsory papers in the CAIIB exam, these are Advanced Bank Management, Bank Financial Management, Advanced Business & Financial Management, Banking Regulations and Business Laws, and along with an elective paper for which the applicants are required to choose any one subject from the given list provided by the IIBF. Talking about CAIIB exam, the total number of attempts and allotted time limit is very important for candidates as it is an integral part of CAIIB selection Process. The Indian Institute of Banking and Finance has set a deadline for CAIIB 2026 exam to better understand the important factors we have highlighted. Let us discuss them in detail:- Candidates registered for CAIIB 2026 exam have a maximum of three years or five attempts (whichever is earlier) to clear the exam. The five attempts do not have to be consecutive. Flexibility is in order.
- If the exam is not taken within the three-year or five-year time limit, candidates must re-register for the exam. When the time limit is exceeded, previously completed subjects are not considered; candidates start from scratch.
- The countdown of three years, or five attempts, starts from the applicant's initial registration. Attempts are counted regardless of whether the exam is passed or not.
- The candidate can choose five of the six exams offered within three years. If the applicant uses all five attempts within three years, he must re-register. Similarly, if an applicant does not use all
- five attempts but exceeds the three-year limit, re-registration is required.
