Delhi APP Vacancy 2026 is around 50 contractual-level posts. Candidates who have completed their law degree can apply for the contractual-level recruitment drive for the Assistant Public Prosecutor profile.

Delhi APP Eligibility Criteria 2026

Candidates should check the Delhi APP eligibility criteria before applying.

• Candidates must have an LL.B. degree from a university or institution recognised by the Bar Council of India (BCI).

• Candidates must have at least 3 years of active practice as an Advocate at the Bar.

• Candidates must be Indian citizens.

• Legal experience and valid documents.

Age Limit

The maximum age is 35 years for unreserved candidates.

• SC/ST and PwD: 5 years relaxation

• OBC: 3 years relaxation

Age is counted on the last date of application, as stated in the official recruitment rules.

Delhi APP Selection Process 2026

Delhi APP selection process 2026 has no written test. Candidates are first shortlisted and then called for a personal interview.

The calling ratio is 1:3. Thus, around 150 candidates may be called for 50 vacancies.

Shortlisting may consider:

• LL.M. or PhD in Law.

• Legal practice beyond three years.

• Experience in criminal trials and court work.

• Certified judgments and order sheets showing appearances before the Supreme Court, High Courts, or subordinate criminal courts.

Delhi APP Salary 2026

Selected candidates will receive consolidated monthly remuneration linked to Level-10 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) pay matrix. Applicable Dearness Allowance (DA) will also be provided in Delhi APP Salary.

As this is a contractual post, HRA, Transport Allowance, medical reimbursement, interview travel allowance, and pension benefits are not available.

Tenure and Job Conditions

The initial contract is for 6 months and may be extended as per government requirements. Either side can end the contract by giving one month's written notice.

The post is a full-time appointment. Selected candidates cannot continue private legal practice, retainerships, or other commercial employment during the contract. A maximum of 8 leaves can be taken during the engagement.

Contractual service does not provide a right to regularisation, permanent absorption, seniority, gratuity, provident fund, or regular APP cadre appointment.

Selected Assistant Public Prosecutors will represent GNCTD in criminal matters. Their duties include:

• Conducting criminal prosecutions and trials before JMFC, CJM, and ACJM courts.

• Representing the State in criminal proceedings and bail matters.
