AILET Eligibility Criteria: Reservation Policy

According to the official AILET Exam Eligibility, a certain percentage of seats are reserved for specific categories. Specifically:
  • 15% of seats are reserved for the SC (Scheduled Caste) category.
  • 7.5% of seats are reserved for the ST (Scheduled Tribe) category.
  • 5% of seats are reserved for Persons with Disabilities on a horizontal basis.
Additionally:
  • There is one extra supernumerary seat for Kashmiri migrants.
  • Two extra seats are allocated for residents of Jammu and Kashmir, following the official AILET Eligibility details.

AILET Exam Eligibility for Foreign Nationals

Foreign Nationals and OCI/PIO candidates need to apply online through the same portal. Here are the eligibility criteria for AILET for these applicants:
  1. Educational Qualification:
    • Candidates must have achieved a score of 65% on the Higher Secondary School Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination, in accordance with AILET Exam Eligibility.
  2. Admissions Test Requirement:
    • Foreign nationals are not required to take the admissions test. However, they must adhere to the other AILET Eligibility rules applicable to all candidates.
    • Refer to the AILET Cut Off from the previous year to understand the range of marks required for the final admission round.
  3. OCI/PIO Criteria:
    • Candidates falling under the OCI/PIO criteria can apply either under the Foreign National Category or the Indian Student Category, based on AILET Eligibility.
  4. Exam Participation for OCI/PIO under Indian National Category:

    • Enter your date, month, and year of birth according to the English calendar and as recorded in your School/Board (Class – X)/Pre-University examination certificate. Check the AILET Answer Key when released to estimate your score.
  5. Gender:
    • Select the correct gender option.

    • Choose any three centers of your preference in order.
  7. Nationality:
    • If you are Indian, choose the option indicated for ―INDIAN. If not, choose the option indicated for ―FOREIGN.
