The Consortium of National Law Universities has lowered the fee for raising objections to the UG and PG answer keys. The CLAT 2026 answer key objection fee is now INR 500, instead of the earlier INR 1,000 charged for challenging the provisional answer key.
The provisional answer key for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026, conducted on December 7, has been released, and the objection window is now active. Candidates can dispute any error they find in the CLAT 2026 provisional answer key PDF. The portal for submitting challenges will remain open until 5 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025. A valid supporting document must be uploaded for every objection; claims without proof will not be taken up. If an objection is accepted, the INR 500 fee for that particular question will be refunded.

Indian Nationals and NRIs are eligible to appear for admission to UG programmes through CLAT 2026.
Foreign Nationals are not eligible to take the test. They must approach individual NLUs directly for admission.
For NRI/NRI Sponsored seats, applicants must follow the details provided in the e-brochures and on the websites of the respective NLUs. Seat allotment for these categories will not be handled by the Consortium.
The Information Brochure on the Consortium website carries the intake details, reservation rules, fee structures and programme information of all 25 NLUs, with further details available on each NLU’s official website. Candidates are expected to review the rules, policies, and fee structures carefully before submitting the UG application form. The e-brochure contains only brief information on courses, subjects and specialisations; complete details are available on NLU websites.
Candidates must check the CLAT 2026 website regularly for updates. Seat allotment and admission offers under CLAT 2026 will remain provisional and do not guarantee a right of admission.
