CLAT 5th Merit List 2026: Key Points

Provided below are some key points for the CLAT 5th merit list 2025. 

• Aspirants who have chosen the “Float” option in the CLAT 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th round of counselling are not eligible to appear for the CLAT final round of seat allotment. 
• Candidates whose “Float” option has expired after the CLAT 4th round of counselling can sit for this round. 
• In the CLAT 5th round of counselling, candidates must select either the “Freeze” or “Exit” options. There is no “Float” option available in this round. 
• Those who have been allotted seats in this round based on their NLU preference list are required to pay a non-refundable fee of Rs 20,000 before exercising the “Freeze” option.

CLAT 2026 Counselling & Seat Allotment 

CLAT 2026 counselling will be held in 5 rounds by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) for admissions into undergraduate and postgraduate law programs. Candidates who have been offered a seat in their preferred NLU need to submit the seat confirmation fee and complete all admission formalities before the deadline.
