CLAT Latest Updates 2025: The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national-level law entrance exam for admission to UG programs in 24 NLUs and PG programs in 21 NLUs. The exam is conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The participating universities include WBNUJS Kolkata, NALSAR Hyderabad, NLU Jodhpur, and NLSIU Bangalore. As per the official notification, the CLAT 2025 exam is scheduled for 1st December 2024.

The CLAT exam is held in offline mode at the allotted test centers. The exam consists of 120 multiple-choice questions based on Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, Logical reasoning, and Legal Aptitude.

CLAT New Updates 2025

According to the latest updates regarding the CLAT application form, the last date to submit the application form is 15th October 2024. The application process commenced from 15th July 2024 and the application form is available online. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially released the detailed notification on 7th July 2024 on the official website. Candidates can fill out the application form by visiting the official website i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The application fee for general category candidates is INR 4000/-, while for the reserved category candidates, it is INR 3500/-.

CLAT Registration

The CLAT registration process began on 15th July 2024. The CLAT registration can be done through online mode on the official website at consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Before applying for the exam, candidates must adhere to the eligibility criteria as stated by the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs). The CLAT registration process involves the following steps.
  • Refer to the official website of the consortium i.e., consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
  • Select the "CLAT 2025" option.
  • You will be redirected to the candidate's login portal where CLAT 2025 notifications are published.
  • Enter your name, valid mobile number, and email address.
  • Along with the above credentials, candidates also have to create a secure and strong password that has at least one number, one numerical, an upper case and a lower case alphabet, and one symbol, and it should be at least 8 characters long.
  • After creating the password, click on the "Register" button.
  • An OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email address for account verification.
  • Use this OTP to activate the CLAT login account 2025.

CLAT Application Form

Candidates can fill out the CLAT application form 2025 through online mode. The application form is available on the official website of the consortium i.e. consortiumofnlus.ac.in. Candidates must ensure that they provide the correct details in the application form and upload the mandatory documents as per the official notification. In case of any discrepancies in the application form, the candidature can also be canceled. The detailed CLAT application process is explained below.
  • Personal Details
Enter your personal details such as your name, parent's name, date of birth, category, address, educational qualification, etc in the application form. Make sure that your personal details are authentic and correct.
  • Upload Documents
Candidates have to upload the required documents in the prescribed format such as the photograph, signature, category certificate, etc. The photograph must be clear with a white background. The scanned signature must be in the format jpg or jpeg only. Candidates belonging to reserved category must upload the category certificate in PDF format and the size must be less than 1.5 MB.
  • Communication Details
Candidates must enter the communication details such as permanent address and correspondence address, name of the city, state, and pin-code. The mobile number and email address entered during the registration process must be authentic and correct. The communication details are used until the completion of the admission process of national law universities.
  • CLAT Exam Centers
Candidates have to select a minimum of 3 test centers for the CLAT exam. The exam centers will be allotted based on the candidate's preference list and availability of seats in the particular exam center.
  • College Preference
According to their preference list, candidates have to select the National Law Universities (NLUs). While selecting universities, candidates must ensure that the requirements are fulfilled.
  • CLAT Application Fee
Candidates can pay the application fee via online modes of payment such as debit cards, credit cards, or net banking. After the successful payment of the fee, the application form gets submitted.
