The AILET 2026 Counselling: The counselling for AILET 2026 is done by National Law University (NLU), Delhi in order to fill seats for their BA LLB (Hons) programme. Every year, NLU calls selected applicants for Counselling in a certain proportion so that all seats are filled, even if some applicants opt out.
For AILET 2026, NLU Delhi will shortlist thrice the number of seats offered in each category. As the total number of seats offered for Indian nationals is 110, the number of candidates required for counseling is 330.
This counselling procedure marks the culmination of the entire admission process after the declaration of results. Shortlisting for counselling happens strictly on the basis of merit ranks. This awareness regarding the number of students shortlisted for counselling will help a candidate set proper expectations before the counselling process.
NLU Delhi follows a 3:1 counselling call ratio, meaning three candidates are invited for every available seat. This approach allows the university to manage withdrawals, non-reporting, and category shifts during multiple counselling rounds.
Total BA LLB (Hons) seats (Indian Nationals): 110
Counselling call ratio: 3 candidates per seat
Total counselling invites: 330 candidates
The counselling invitation calls are issued after adjusting the horizontal reservation for the candidates with PwD. The obtained final seat count in each category is multiplied by three to obtain a call list.
