LNAT Syllabus 2025: The Law National Aptitude Test (LNAT) is a compulsory test for law aspirants seeking admission to premier law schools in the UK. The test is now accepted by Indian colleges, such as Jindal Global Law School, for admission to UG law programs. The LNAT syllabus 2025 evaluates candidates based on their critical thinking, argumentative writing, and comprehension aptitude. Unlike traditional legal entrance exams, LNAT focuses more on your analytical reasoning skills and essay writing skills. As per the exam notification, there has been no official LNAT syllabus. It only includes important and relevant topics that candidates must focus on during their preparation. The LNAT syllabus focuses on more analytical and verbal reasoning, along with essay writing abilities. Candidates do not need to have a solid understanding of legal terms and concepts to appear for LNAT exam. The syllabus evaluates critical thinking, comprehension, and argumentative writing through two sections: multiple-choice questions based on argumentative passages and an essay requiring structured analysis of social, ethical, or philosophical topics.

Section A: Multiple-Choice Questions

  • It includes passage-based questions. 
  • There will be 12 passages followed by 42 MCQs. 
  • Candidates will be evaluated on their reference skills, logical reasoning, and argument evaluation. 
  • You will get 95 minutes for this section, approximately 8 minutes per passage.

Section B: Essay Writing

  • Candidates have to write an essay on any one of the 3 topics provided. 
  • They will be given 40 minutes to complete it.

LNAT Exam Pattern 2025

The LNAT exam is conducted in online mode at the allotted test centres. The exam will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes. The LNAT exam pattern 2025 includes two sections, namely Section A and Section B. Section A consists of 42 multiple-choice questions based on 12 argumentative passages, while Section B requires candidates to write a 750-word essay (from a choice of three topics) assessing structured argumentation and clarity in 40 minutes. The test is structured to evaluate your verbal reasoning, analytical skills, and command of English, with no legal knowledge necessary.
