NLSAT Syllabus 2025 Overview

The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bangalore's NLSAT 2025 is designed to assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies. The exam is divided into two distinct parts namely Part A, which consists of objective multiple-choice questions, and Part B, which features subjective descriptive questions. The NLSAT Syllabus 2025 includes five subjects: English Comprehension, Current Affairs, Critical Reasoning, Legal Aptitude and Reasoning, and Analytical Ability. The total exam duration is 150 minutes, with candidates required to demonstrate proficiency in both objective and subjective sections to qualify for admission.

NLSAT Subjects 2025

The main subjects included in the NLSAT LLB 2025 entrance exam for Part A and B are mentioned below.
  • English Comprehension - 25 marks
  • Current Affairs - 25 marks
  • Critical Reasoning - 25 marks
  • Legal Aptitude and Reasoning - 60 marks
  • Analytics Ability - 15 marks

Part A: Objective Section

  • Part A will have a total of 75 MCQs.
  • There will be three distinct sections namely, English Comprehension, Current Affairs, and Critical Reasoning.
  • Each section will be awarded 25 marks each.
  • For every wrong answer and and for each unanswered question, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.

Part B: Subjective Section

  • It will be subjective in nature and require candidates to write short descriptive answers and an essay.
  • Part B will consist of 10 short descriptive questions and one essay question.
  • The short descriptive questions will assess candidates' legal aptitude and reasoning knowledge. Candidates have to answer the questions in approximately 300-350 words. To answer the questions candidates do not require a prior knowledge of law and legal fields.
  • The questions will be based on Legal Aptitude, Reasoning, and Analytical Ability. Part B will be for a total of 75 marks.
  • The essay question will be based on topics synonymous with current affairs. Candidates are required to answer it in approximately 500 words. The essay will evaluate candidates' knowledge of the topic and the ability to form coherent arguments.

NLSAT Syllabus 2025 for Part A

NLSAT Syllabus 2025 for Part A includes three main sections namely English Comprehension, Current Affairs, and Critical Reasoning. Part A is an objective section consisting of 75 multiple-choice questions. Each section contains 25 questions worth 25 marks, with a total duration of 150 minutes. The exam will have 8-10 passages of approximately 500 words, testing candidates' comprehension, reasoning, and current affairs knowledge.
