NLSAT Subjects 2025

• English Comprehension - 25 marks
• Current Affairs - 25 marks
• Critical Reasoning - 25 marks
• Legal Aptitude and Reasoning - 60 marks
• Analytics Ability - 15 marks

Part A: Objective Section

• Part A will have a total of 75 MCQs.
• There will be three distinct sections namely, English Comprehension, Current Affairs, and Critical Reasoning.
• Each section will be awarded 25 marks each.
• For every wrong answer and and for each unanswered question, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks.

Part B: Subjective Section

• It will be subjective in nature and require candidates to write short descriptive answers and an essay.
• Part B will consist of 10 short descriptive questions and one essay question.
• The short descriptive questions will assess candidates' legal aptitude and reasoning knowledge. Candidates have to answer the questions in approximately 300-350 words. To answer the questions candidates do not require a prior knowledge of law and legal fields.
• The questions will be based on Legal Aptitude, Reasoning, and Analytical Ability. Part B will be for a total of 75 marks.
• The essay question will be based on topics synonymous with current affairs. Candidates are required to answer it in approximately 500 words. The essay will evaluate candidates' knowledge of the topic and the ability to form coherent arguments.

• The NLSAT consists of two parts: Part A (Objective) includes English comprehension, current affairs, critical reasoning, and legal aptitude, while Part B (Subjective) focuses on legal reasoning and an essay. Familiarize yourself with the weightage of each section to prioritize your study time effectively.
• Focus on grammar, vocabulary, and reading comprehension. Engage with diverse reading materials such as legal texts, newspapers, and journals, to enhance your understanding and speed.
• Regularly read newspapers and follow credible news sources to stay informed about national and international events, especially in the legal sphere. Make notes on significant legal developments.
• Practice logical reasoning questions and puzzles to sharpen your analytical skills.
• Study fundamental legal concepts, landmark case laws, and legal maxims and understand their basic principles. 
• For Part B's essay component, practice writing concise arguments within the word limit. Focus on clarity, structure, and coherence in your essays to convey your thoughts effectively.
  
• Solve previous years’ papers and take mock tests to assess your speed and accuracy.
• Take one full-length mock test to simulate exam conditions. Review and analyze your performance after each mock test.
