PUCET Law 2025: Panjab University conducts Panjab University Common Entrance Test (PUCET) for admission to law programs, including the 5-year integrated BA LLB (Hons), B.Com LLB (Hons), and the 3-year LLB course. The exam serves as a gateway for students seeking UG and PG legal education at Panjab University and its affiliated colleges. The entrance test assesses candidates on subjects like General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Mental Ability, and English Language, with separate exam patterns for the 3-year and 5-year law courses. 

PUCET Law 2025 registration is currently ongoing. The registration window opened from 1 May 20025 and will continue till 8 June 2025. Candidates meeting the eligibility criteria must complete their registration before the deadline at uglaw.puchd.ac.in. The PUCET 2025 for the 3-year LLB will be conducted on 29 June 2025. and complete the application process to participate in the exam.

PUCET Law 2025 will be conducted on 29 June 2025. The application process began on 1 May 2025, and candidates can register online until 8 June 2025. The last date for fee payment is 11 June 2025. PUCET Law 2025 Application Process

The PUCET Law 2025 application process is conducted entirely online through the official Panjab University portals at uglaw.puchd.ac.in. for both the 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated law programs. Candidates must first register on the website by providing basic details such as name, email ID, and educational qualifications, after which they receive a login ID and password. Once registered, applicants need to fill in personal, academic, and contact information, upload scanned copies of their photograph and signature, and pay the application fee online or via SBI e-challan. The completed application form, along with all required documents, must be submitted by 8 June 2025 for the 3-year LLB program. 

PUCET Law 2025 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to secure admission to 3-year law programs at the university. 

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in any discipline from Panjab University or any other university recognized by the Bar Council of India. 
• A minimum of 45% aggregate marks is required for general category candidates; those belonging to SC, ST, BC, or PwD categories are eligible with at least 40% aggregate marks. 
• There is no upper age limit to apply for the 3-year LLB program.
• Candidates in the final year of their qualifying degree can also apply, provided they meet the eligibility requirements at the time of admission. 
• For degrees in Modern Indian Languages or Classical Languages, the aggregate is calculated based on marks in the language examination, excluding additional optional papers and certain subjects.

PUCET Law Exam Pattern 2025

The PUCET Law 2025 exam for both the 3-year LLB and 5-year integrated law programs will be conducted in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions to be answered in 90 minutes. The question paper covers sections such as English Language, Legal Aptitude, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, and Reasoning Ability. Each correct answer will get 1 mark, and a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect response. Candidates can choose to attempt the exam in English, Hindi, or Punjabi, though certain sections may be available only in English. 

PUCET Law Exam Syllabus 2025

The PUCET Law Exam Syllabus wide range of topics designed to assess a candidate’s aptitude for legal studies and general awareness. The exam is divided into key sections, namely, General Knowledge & Current Affairs, Legal Aptitude, Mental Ability, and English Language. Topics such as the Indian Constitution, Law of Contracts, Torts, Criminal Law, International Law, and Intellectual Property Rights are covered in the exam. Familiarity with this syllabus is crucial for effective exam preparation, enabling candidates to focus on relevant areas and enhance their performance in the entrance test.

PUCET Law Admit Card 2025

The PUCET Law 2025 admit card will be released on 24 June 2025. Candidates can download it from the official Panjab University Law Entrance website using their application credentials. It is mandatory to carry the admit card to the exam center as it contains important details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, exam date, time, and venue. Without the admit card, candidates will not be allowed to appear for the PUCET Law exam. 

PUCET Law Result 2025

The PUCET Law Result 2025 will be declared by Panjab University a few days after the exam, which is scheduled for 29 June 2025. Candidates can access their results online by logging into the official Panjab University admission portal using their roll number and date of birth. The result will display essential details such as the candidate’s name, roll number, scores, rank, and qualifying status. The merit list will be published based on the entrance exam and qualifying exam scores. Qualified candidates will be shortlisted for the counselling and admission process to the university’s law programs.

PUCET Law Counselling 2025

After the declaration of results and publication of the merit list, shortlisted candidates are invited to participate in the PUCET counselling, which is conducted in offline mode at the university. The process involves document verification, filling in preferences for colleges and courses, and seat allocation based on merit rank, category, and availability of seats. Candidates must confirm their admission by paying the requisite fees and reporting to the allotted college within the stipulated time to secure their seat.

PUCET Law Seat Matrix 2025 for 3-year LLB 

Panjab University comprises a total of 480 seats distributed across four affiliated law colleges for 3-year LLB programs. The Department of Laws, Panjab University, Chandigarh, offers the largest share with 300 seats, while the regional centres at Ludhiana, Hoshiarpur, and Muktsar each have 60 seats available.
