CAT 2025 Admit Card release date: The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) will issue the CAT 2025 admit cards on November 5, 2025, through its official website, iimcat.ac.in. Candidates who registered for the exam can log in using their credentials to download the admit card.
The registration process for the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2025 ended on September 20, 2025, and the exam is scheduled for November 30, 2025 (Sunday). The result is expected to be declared in the first week of January 2026.
CAT 2025 serves as the entrance test for admission to postgraduate and doctoral programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). In addition, many non-IIM institutions also use CAT scores for their admissions. A list of such participating institutions will be published on the CAT website after the exam. The IIMs, however, are not involved in the admission process of non-IIM institutions. The exam will be held across approximately 170 cities, and candidates were allowed to select up to five preferred cities during registration. The final list of centres may vary based on administrative decisions.

The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a national-level computer-based entrance exam for admission to MBA and other postgraduate management programs offered by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) and several other top B-schools in India.
The exam has three main sections:
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)
Quantitative Aptitude (Quant)
Traditionally, CAT was a 3-hour test, but since the pandemic, the duration has been reduced to 2 hours. This shorter format has continued for the past three years and may remain the standard going forward, though no official confirmation has been made yet.
The CAT does not have a formally defined syllabus, but its pattern has remained consistent over the years. Based on past exams, questions generally cover topics from reading comprehension, grammar, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, number systems, data analysis, and logical puzzles.
Candidates preparing for the exam are advised to study the key concepts from each section and practice using mock tests to understand the pattern and timing of the exam.
