The TANCET Result 2025 is computed for the candidates based on the marking scheme of the TANCET Exam. The TANCET Official Answer Key has already been released, and thus, candidates can now check their scores by referring to the following marking scheme defined by the examining authority for various courses:
+1 Mark for each correct answer.
1/3 marks deducted for each incorrect answer.
1/3 marks are deducted if multiple options are selected.
TANCET Exam is being conducted only for the MBA and MCA courses since 2023. As the examination is held in single shift, normalization of marks is not required here. Only the candidates who appear for the Tamil Nadu state-level exam for ME/MTech/MArch/ Plan courses will be facing normalisation of scores for the first two parts of the exam.
For the TANCET Exam for ME/MTech courses, the question paper is divided into the following three sections:
Part 1 - Engineering Mathematics
Part 2 - Basic Engineering and Sciences
Part 3 - Based on the course opted for
Parts 1 and 2 are the same for all the candidates, whereas Part 3 differs based on the course opted for. So, the mean mark and standard deviation vary as per disciplines in Part 3. To bring uniformity in variations, the marks of candidates are normalised. The formula for calculating the normalized marks is given below:
Formula for normalisation of marks:
N= 40+(10/s) X (R-M), where, [N= Normalised marks, S= Standard Deviation, R= Raw marks, M= Mean marks]
After the TANCET 2025 exam, the TANCET 2025 Marks Vs. Percentile Analysis signified the trend of performance distribution among the candidates who have appeared for the exam.
Candidates scoring 70+ marks generally obtain a 99.9+ percentile, making them top scorers. Candidates scoring between 65-70 can get a 99-99.8 percentile, implying outstanding performance.
Scores ranging between 60-65 are similar to a 98-99 percentile, while candidates with marks between 55-60 can generally fall within the 95-98 percentile range, keeping them well above average.
Moderate scorers with marks from 50-55 are placed at a 90-95 percentile, whereas those who are in the range of 40-50 command a good 80-90 percentile.
Mark ranges of 30-40 are associated with a 60-75 percentile, which suggests average performance.
Those scoring lower than 30 are most likely to obtain a percentile lower than 60, which implies they need better precision and preparation.
