FMGE 2025 Syllabus

FMGE 2025 Syllabus : The Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) 2025 is scheduled to take place on July 26, 2025, with the registration process commencing on April 28, 2025, and concluding on May 17, 2025 . The examination comprises 300 multiple-choice questions divided into two parts, each containing 150 questions to be completed in 150 minutes, with a scheduled break between the two parts. The paper is divided into multiple time-bound sections, each containing 50 questions with 50 minutes allotted for each section. Candidates must answer the questions within the allotted time for each section and are not permitted to review or modify their responses after the section time ends. There is no negative marking, and candidates must obtain a minimum of 150 marks out of 300 to pass the examination. Results will be declared by August 26, 2025 . Please note that the FMGE 2025 syllabus and marking scheme are based on previous year's guidelines, and updates will be provided once the official notification is released

FMGE 2025 Marking Scheme

The FMGE 2025 marking scheme outlines the exam format, section timings, evaluation criteria, and the passing requirements for candidates.

  • Examination Format: The FMGE 2025 consists of one paper, comprising 300 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), delivered in two parts on the same day. Each part contains 150 questions, with 150 minutes allotted per part.

  • Question Type: Each question has 4 response options (distractors) in English only. Candidates must select the most appropriate answer.

  • Section Breakdown:

    • The paper will be divided into multiple time-bound sections.

    • Each section will contain 50 questions, and candidates will have 50 minutes to complete each section.

    • Candidates cannot proceed to the next section until the previous section’s time is completed.

    • Once the time for a section ends, candidates will not be allowed to modify their answers or review questions in that section.

  • Marking Scheme:

    • No Negative Marking: There is no penalty for incorrect answers.

    • Pass Criteria: To pass, a candidate must secure a minimum of 150 marks out of 300.

  • Review Option: Candidates may mark any question for review. These questions can be revisited before the allotted time for a section ends. However, these marked questions will be evaluated based on the standard marking scheme.

  • Results:

    • The results (Pass/Fail) will be displayed on the NBEMS website.

    • No re-totaling/re-evaluation is allowed, and there are no provisions for grace marks.

  • Attempts:

    • There are no restrictions on the number of attempts.

    • However, once a candidate qualifies FMGE, they are not eligible to appear again. Any attempt made after qualification will be deemed void and canceled.
