NEET Total Marks 2026: NEET is an important exam for Indian students who want to pursue a career in medicine. NEET total marks 2026 will have a total of 720 marks and will comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology questions. Out of all the three sections, Biology has the maximum number of marks allotted to it. The NEET marking scheme 2026 is such that for each correct answer, the student will get 4 marks, and for each incorrect answer, 1 mark will be deducted. Therefore, it is important for the students to attempt the questions cautiously and with clarity.

NEET Total Marks 2026 Overview

NEET 2026 will be conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency). The Paper will have a total of 180 questions, and the total marks will be 720. All questions will be of MCQ type and the candidates have to mark their answers on an OMR sheet. 4 marks will be given for each correct answer. For each wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted. If a question is left unattempted, neither marks will be awarded nor deducted.

NEET 2026 will test you in three main subjects—Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Biology has two parts: Botany and Zoology. Each subject has 45 questions, and every question carries 4 marks, so each subject totals to 180 marks.

Passing Marks in NEET 2026 Out of Total Marks

NEET qualifying marks 2026 differ based on your category. For instance, students from the general category are required to score at least the 50th percentile or above. Students in the SC, ST, and OBC categories are required to score at least the 40th percentile, while physically disabled students belonging to the general category have to score at the 45th percentile.

Actual passing marks vary every year based on the difficulty level of the paper and the performance of students.
