UP NEET Counselling 2026: The Directorate General of Medical Education and Training (DGME), Uttar Pradesh, is conducting UP NEET Counselling 2026 for admissions into 85% State Quota seats across government and private medical/dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Eligible candidates who qualified NEET UG 2026 conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) can register through the official portal upneet.gov.in.

The single-window process governs medical admissions for MBBS and BDS programs in state-run colleges, autonomous medical institutes, state universities, and private minority/non-minority institutions across UP.

The official information brochure and schedule for UP NEET Counselling 2026 Round 1 were released. Following the initial rollout, it extended the Round 1 online registration, document upload, and fee payment deadline through August 14, 2026.

According to notifications published on upneet.gov.in and dgme.up.gov.in:

• State Merit List: The UP State Merit List for Round 1 registered candidates is being published following online document verification.

• Choice Filling & Locking: Successfully verified candidates who have deposited the required security money can fill and lock their college preferences online.

• Seat Allotment Result: Round 1 allotment letters will be available for download on the designated date, following which candidates must report to their assigned Nodal Centers for physical verification and final fee submission.

The counselling schedule for 2026 includes Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the Stray Vacancy Round. Candidates must follow the official schedule carefully because all Saturdays, Sundays and Gazetted Holidays will be treated as working days during counselling.

Domicile Rules & Eligibility Criteria for UP NEET Counselling 2026

1. Government Medical/Dental College Seats (85% State Quota)

• Candidates who have passed both Class 10 (High School) and Class 12 (Intermediate) from a recognized school inside Uttar Pradesh do not require a separate domicile certificate.

• Candidates who have passed either Class 10 or Class 12 (or both) outside UP must submit a valid UP Domicile Certificate issued by a competent state authority (Tehsildar/SDM).

2. Private Medical/Dental Colleges

• Domicile conditions do not apply to private medical and dental colleges in Uttar Pradesh. Candidates from any Indian state who have qualified NEET UG 2026 can participate under open management seats.

Step-by-Step UP NEET Counselling 2026 Process

1. Online Registration: Visit upneet.gov.in, click on "Registration", and log in using your NEET UG Roll Number and Application Number.

2. Document Upload: Upload scanned copies of your NEET scorecard, high school certificate, 10+2 marksheet, domicile certificate, and reservation certificates.

3. Fee Payment: Pay the ₹2,000 registration fee and deposit the applicable security money (₹30k / ₹1 Lakh / ₹2 Lakh) via net banking or debit/credit card.

4. State Merit List: Check the published state merit position to determine your choice filling order.

5. Choice Filling & Locking: Select preferred government and private colleges in order of priority. Lock your choices before the deadline—unlocked choices will not be evaluated for seat allotment.

6. Allotment & Nodal Center Reporting: Download the seat allotment letter, obtain the physical verification slip, and report to the designated Nodal Center with original certificates and tuition fee drafts.

Documents Required for UP NEET Counselling 2026 Verification

Candidates must produce the following original documents along with two self-attested sets of photocopies during reporting at the Nodal Center:

• NEET UG 2026 Admit Card and Official Scorecard

• UP NEET 2026 Registration Slip and Fee Payment Receipt

• Proof of Security Money Deposit

• Class 10 Passing Certificate/Marksheet (Date of Birth proof)

• Class 12 Marksheet and Passing Certificate

• Valid UP Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

• Caste / Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) issued by competent UP state authority (OBC and EWS certificates must be issued on or after April 1, 2026)

• Sub-category certificate (Freedom Fighter / Ex-Serviceman / PwD / NCC, if applicable)

• Valid Photo ID Proof (Aadhaar Card, Passport, PAN Card, Voter ID)
