The Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has officially released the GATE 2026 response sheet and provisional answer key on the official website, gate2026.iitg.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering on February 7, 8, 14, and 15 can now access the GATE 2026 GOAPS login portal to download their master question papers and individual responses.

IIT Guwahati has officially released the GATE 2026 answer key and candidate response sheet today, February 22, 2026. Aspirants who appeared for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering can now access the GATE 2026 provisional answer key and their individual recorded responses to estimate their All India Rank (AIR) before the final results.

GATE 2026 Objection Window & Challenge Fee

IIT Guwahati has provided a window for candidates to challenge the provisional answer key. If you find a discrepancy in the official solutions, you can raise an objection through the GATE 2026 objection window.

  • Challenge Fee: Candidates must pay a non-refundable fee of ₹500 per question challenged (for Indian candidates).

  • Documentation: You must upload a clear PDF justification for your objection.

  • Final Answer Key: If the challenge is accepted, the fee will be refunded, and a GATE 2026 final answer key will be released in March.

GATE 2026 Marking Scheme: How to Calculate Your Score

To calculate your probable score using the GATE 2026 response sheet, apply the following marking rules:

  • MCQs (Multiple Choice):

    • 1-mark questions: +1 for correct; -1/3 for wrong.

    • 2-mark questions: +2 for correct; -2/3 for wrong.

  • MSQs & NATs (Multiple Select & Numerical Type):

    • No Negative Marking for incorrect answers.

The GATE 2026 result is scheduled for announcement on March 19, 2026. Following the results, qualified candidates can use their scores for:

  • Direct Recruitment in top PSUs like ONGC, NTPC, and IOCL.

What is the fee to challenge the GATE 2026 provisional answer key?

Ans: If you find a discrepancy in the GATE 2026 provisional answer key, you can raise an objection during the challenge window. The GATE 2026 challenge fee is ₹500 per question for Indian candidates and US $10 for international candidates. If your objection is found valid by the experts, the fee will be refunded.

What is the difference between GATE marks and GATE score?

GATE Marks are your actual raw marks obtained out of 100 based on the marking scheme. The GATE Score is a normalized value out of 1000, calculated using a formula that accounts for the difficulty level of different exam sessions.
