The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially declared the UPSC CSE Result 2026 today. Candidates who appeared for the Civil Services Examination 2025 Personality Test can now access the final merit list and their qualifying status on the official website

This year’s result marks the culmination of a rigorous three-stage selection process that began with the Preliminary examination in May 2025. According to the official notification, a total of 979 vacancies across various services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), and Indian Police Service (IPS), are being filled through this cycle.

UPSC CSE Final Result 2025: How to Check the Merit List

To ensure a smooth experience during high traffic, candidates are advised to follow these verified steps to download the UPSC 2025 Final Result PDF:

  1. Visit the Official Portal: Go to upsconline.nic.in.

  2. Navigate to "What's New": On the homepage, locate the link titled "Final Result: Civil Services (Main) Examination, 2025".

  3. Access the PDF: A new window will open with the PDF containing the roll numbers and names of recommended candidates.

  4. Search Your Rank: Use the Ctrl + F function to search for your name or roll number.

  5. Save for Reference: Download and print a hard copy of the merit list for future documentation.

Category-wise Cut-off Marks and Scorecards

Following the announcement of the final merit list, the UPSC will shortly release the category-wise cut-off marks for all three stages: Prelims, Mains, and the Final selection.

The UPSC Cut-off 2025 is determined by various factors, including the difficulty level of the papers and the overall performance of the 2,845 candidates called for the interview round. While the official 2025 data is being uploaded, here is a look at the previous year's benchmarks for reference:

Note: Individual marksheets for all candidates (both qualified and non-qualified) are expected to be available on the portal within 15 days of the result declaration.

Examination Timeline: A Look Back

The Civil Services Examination 2025 followed a strict schedule despite minor adjustments in the interview phases:

  • Prelims Exam: May 25, 2025

  • Main Examination: August 22 to August 31, 2025

  • Mains Result Declared: November 11, 2025

  • Personality Test (Interviews): January 5 to February 27, 2026

  • Final Result Date: March 6, 2026

The Personality Test (Interview) carried 275 marks, focusing on assessing the candidate’s intellectual traits, social traits, and interest in current affairs. The final ranking is purely based on the aggregate marks of the Written Main Exam and the Interview.

What Happens Next?

Candidates who have successfully secured a rank in the UPSC CSE 2025 Merit List will now undergo service allocation based on their rank, category, and preferences mentioned in the Detailed Application Form (DAF). The medical examination and foundation training at LBSNAA usually commence in the third quarter of the year.

For those who did not qualify this time, the UPSC Prelims 2026 is scheduled for May 24, 2026. Fresh applications for the next cycle are expected to be processed through the OTR (One-Time Registration) platform soon.
