First Step Towards International Science Olympiads: NSE Centre 2026 Centre Registration has been started from August 1 to August 20, 2026. Therefore, the centre registration process for the Olympiad will be organised online. Schools can complete the process before the deadline of August 20, 2026. Student enrolment begins online from August 21, 2026.
The National Standard Examination (NSE) is the gateway to the International Science Olympiads for school students in India. It is conducted by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) in coordination with partner associations, including the Association of Chemistry Teachers (ACT) and the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences (ATBS).
As the first stage of the official Olympiad programme, NSE tests deep subject knowledge, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills. The exam is held across five main subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astronomy, and Junior Science.
Schools gain several key benefits when registering as an official NSE examination centre:
Direct Access to Olympiads: Gives students a clear path to participate in prestigious national and international science competitions.
Convenient Testing Venue: Allows students to appear for these national-level exams inside their own school campus, providing a safe and familiar environment.
Promotes Scientific Temperament: Encourages logical thinking, curiosity, and advanced problem-solving skills among young learners.
Builds Olympiad Culture: Helps schools build a strong culture of academic excellence and competitive learning.
Recognised Academic Status: Establishes the institution as an approved centre for official government-recognised Olympiad examinations.
NSE (Stage 1):
