As per the official details, the International English Olympiad 2025 test for Level 1 will be organized on 3 dates i.e. 26th September, 11th and 26th November 2025. Out of the three dates for IEO level 1, school can select any as per its convenience.   

The International English Olympiad (IEO), which is administered by the Science Olympiad Foundation (SOF), is open to students in grades 1 through 12.The purpose of this English language contest conducted by the Science Olympiad Foundation Olympiads is to determine how well pupils understand grammar, vocabulary, and general language abilities.

Students who participate in the IEO get a valuable understanding of their English language skills by comparing them to those of their peers around the world.

Participants in the International Olympiad Tests can win money prizes and medals. There are several levels to the competition at school, city, zonal, and international level. The IEO test is administered at each school for students in classes 1 to 8, while students in grades 9 to 12 have the option of taking the test at their school or competing at the city, zonal, or international level.

International English Olympiad Eligibility 2025

International English Olympiad (IEO) Eligibility Criteria Level 1: 

The International English Olympiad (IEO) is open to students in grades 1 to 12 who are enrolled in a school that is recognized by SOF. Students are only permitted to participate in the Olympiad for their specific grade. There are no additional requirements for eligibility.

International English Olympiad (IEO) Eligibility Criteria Level 2: 

The IEO Level 2 exam is only open to students in Classes 3 to 12,  students in classes 1 and 2 are not required to appear in the International English Olympiad Level 2 Exam. The level 2 test is open to the top 5% of students in each class who take the level 1 test.

How to Apply for SOF IEO 2025?

School Registration: Confirm if your school is already registered with SOF. The schools that participate in Olympiads are registered with SOF and If your school is not registered, the school can request a prospectus and registration forms by contacting SOF via:

Obtain Registration Form: SOF Registered schools receive the International English Olympiad prospectus and registration forms from Science Olympiad Foundation. Collect the registration form from your school’s Olympiad coordinator or designated teacher.

Complete the Registration Form: Fill in all required details on the registration form accurately. Submit the completed form to your school along with the registration fee.

Payment of Registration Fee: The application fee is Rs. 125/- per student (including GST) for Indian schools. Schools may charge an additional Rs. 25 per student for administrative expenses. International schools pay USD 9 per student. Students with major physical disabilities and children of Indian defense personnel martyred in operations are exempt from the fee.

Submission by School: The school compiles all student application forms and submit them to SOF before the deadline (at least 30 days before the chosen exam date)

At School Level

• Students who obtain 100% Scores
  
• Gold Medal of Excellence to top rank holder in class, for five to nine students taking the test or course.
  
• Gold Medal of Excellence for the top three students in a class of 10 to 25 students taking the exam/course.
  
• Gold Medal of Excellence for the top 10% of pupils in the class if there are more than 25 students taking the exam/class
