As per the official details, the International English Olympiad 2025 test for Level 1 will be organized on 3 dates i.e. 26th September, 11th and 26th November 2025. Out of the three dates for IEO level 1, school can select any as per its convenience.

International English Olympiad Eligibility 2025
International English Olympiad (IEO) Eligibility Criteria Level 1:
The International English Olympiad (IEO) is open to students in grades 1 to 12 who are enrolled in a school that is recognized by SOF. Students are only permitted to participate in the Olympiad for their specific grade. There are no additional requirements for eligibility.
International English Olympiad (IEO) Eligibility Criteria Level 2:
The IEO Level 2 exam is only open to students in Classes 3 to 12, students in classes 1 and 2 are not required to appear in the International English Olympiad Level 2 Exam. The level 2 test is open to the top 5% of students in each class who take the level 1 test.

How to Apply for SOF IEO 2025?
School Registration: Confirm if your school is already registered with SOF. The schools that participate in Olympiads are registered with SOF and If your school is not registered, the school can request a prospectus and registration forms by contacting SOF via:

Obtain Registration Form: SOF Registered schools receive the International English Olympiad prospectus and registration forms from Science Olympiad Foundation. Collect the registration form from your school’s Olympiad coordinator or designated teacher.
Complete the Registration Form: Fill in all required details on the registration form accurately. Submit the completed form to your school along with the registration fee.
Payment of Registration Fee: The application fee is Rs. 125/- per student (including GST) for Indian schools. Schools may charge an additional Rs. 25 per student for administrative expenses. International schools pay USD 9 per student. Students with major physical disabilities and children of Indian defense personnel martyred in operations are exempt from the fee.
Submission by School: The school compiles all student application forms and submit them to SOF before the deadline (at least 30 days before the chosen exam date)

IEO Exam Pattern 2025
The IEO Level 1 test for International English Olympiad is conducted in the school premises enrolled by SOF during school hours.
(i) The IEO Level 1 competition consists of 35 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 1 to class 4 and 50 objective-type (Multiple Choice) questions for class 5 to class 12. Duration of exam is 60 minutes.
(ii) The Internanational English Olympiad Level 1 Exam consists of four sections
Section 1: Word & Structure Knowledge
Section 2: Reading
Section 3: Spoken & Written Expression
Section 4: Achievers Section
(iii) The Internatrional English Olympiad Curriculum following the CBSE, ICSE/ISC and State Board syllabus
(iii) There are separate question papers for each date of Exam and medium of exam is English Only.
(iv) The exam is conducted during school hours.

IEO Level 2 Exam Pattern: The level 2 is conducted for students of class 3 to class 12. The qualifiers to second round would include the following:
- Top 5% of candidates, class wise, who appear in the 1st level exam. In case of a tie of marks, due weightage to marks scored in different sections will be given. Each section is accorded separate weightage.
- Top 25 rank holders class wise & Zone wise.
- Class topper where at least 10 students from a class appear in the exam & scores 50% qualifying marks. In case registration is received section wise, top rank holder, irrespective of section will qualify for the 2nd level. For section wise registrations, winner(s) of gold medal may not necessarily qualify for the second level.
