NMTC 2026 : The Association of Mathematics Teachers of India (AMTI) annually conducts the NMTC (National Mathematics Talent Contest) attracting young mathematics enthusiasts since 1968. This National Mathematics Talent Contest is a prestigious competition seeks students who are capable of creative thinking, eager to solve unfamiliar problems, and strong math skills for their age.

NMCT 2026 is organized to recognize and foster students who possess the aptitude for innovative and imaginative thinking, the desire to tackle new and unconventional challenges, and a broad mathematical skill set.

NMTC Registration 2026 Link

As per the latest updates, the NMTC Registration Process 2026 will be released soon on the official website of the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India at https://amtionline.com. The online application window is expected to remain open until July 2026.

Only institutional registrations will be accepted, and individual applications will not be considered. Schools must ensure that all required documents are submitted along with the NMTC 2026 online application form. A direct registration link will be provided here once it is officially activated.

NMTC Application Fee 2026 

Students have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 150, with Rs. 125 going to AMTI and the institution keeping Rs. 25 to cover expenses to complete the NMTC 2026 Online Registration Process. This is a one-time fee and students who progress to the next stage and progress further do not have to pay until the final stage.
The NMTC Application Fees 2026 are non-refundable once paid and the mode of payment is online only.

How to Apply for NMTC 2026?

Follow the below given steps to apply for the NMTC (National Mathematics Talent Contest) 2026

  • Go to amtionline.com and get the Excel name list and Data Consolidation Sheet from the "NMTC" area.
  • Fill out the Excel name list as well as the Data Consolidation Sheet.
  • Send the completed Data Consolidation Sheet and Excel name list (Excel format only) to AMTI at support@amtionline.com. Add your payment information for the fees.
  • Verify that every entry is full and as per the required eligibility crtieria.
  • Make the payment online using NEFT, IMPS, or similar methods. Institutions are subject to a charge of Rs. 125 each entry.

National Mathematics Talent Contest 2026

The National Mathematics Talent Contest (NMTC) 2026 is conducted by the Association of Mathematics Teachers of India to identify and promote mathematical talent among school students. The exam will be held in two stages, with Stage 1 in August 2026 and Stage 2 in September 2026. Registration will be done online through schools on the official website. Admit cards will be released before the exam, and the NMTC Result 2026 is expected in the first week of December 2026.

NMTC Exam Date 2026

The Association of Mathematics Teachers of India will soon release the official NMTC Exam Date 2026 on its website https://amtionline.com. As per the latest updates, the Stage 1 Preliminary Exam is expected to be conducted in August 2026, while the Stage 2 Final Test will be held in September 2026.

The allotted institution may serve as a test centre for the National Mathematics Talent Contest, subject to successful centre verification and the committee’s decision. A few days before the examination, eligible candidates will be issued the NMTC Admit Card 2026, which is mandatory to appear for the exam.

NMTC Exam Pattern 2026

NMTC Exam Pattern 2026 helps candidates to understand types of questions, time management, focus on essential topics by knowing what to expect in the NMTC Examination.

The NMTC exam consists of two main stages for most participants, with an exception for senior-level students:

  • NMTC Preliminary Test: All candidates, except seniors, start here. It takes place in participating schools, lasts 2 hours, and contains detailed questions (multiple choice and fill-in). This test assesses problem solving skills using easy (20%) and challenging (80%) questions. 10% of top performers pass the final exam.

Note: Students selected for the preliminary level test will get certificates, which may be treated as the Hall Ticket for the final examination.

  • NMTC Final Test: For first-time passers, this 3-hour psychological test covers the most advanced topics. This is done in relevant premises, focusing on a deeper understanding of mathematics.
  • The top 10% in the preliminary round move to the last, with their performance certificates as their entry ticket.
  • There is negative marking in the preliminary test - 0.5 in Objective Questions and 0.25 in Numerical based Questions

NMTC 2026 Result

The Association of Mathematics Teachers of India is expected to announce the NMTC Result 2026 for the Stage 1 Preliminary Test in September 2026. The results will be published on the official website https://amtionline.com. Students who qualify in the preliminary stage will be eligible to appear for the second stage of the NMTC Examination, scheduled in October 2026.

To check the NMTC 2026 result, candidates must log in using their date of birth and password. The date of birth should be entered in DDMMYYYY format for successful access.

NMTC Awards and Recognition

  • The top three winners at each level of the finals will receive cash prizes of Rs. 5000 for first place, Rs. 2500 for second place, and Rs. 1250 for third place.
  • They and others chosen at the final level will receive merit certificates along with a cash prize of Rs. 500.
  • The latter will also be awarded for disclosing a fair amount of mathematical sophistication.
  • For the promising toppers, enrichment contact courses are probably going to be planned.
  • An additional award—an Honorary Mention—for an elegant answer to a question in the Final Level will be given. All prize winners will receive their Merit Certificates and Prizes at our AMTI ANNUAL CONFERENCE in December 2026. The winners will get separate communication with specifics about our conference.
