Must be eligible to hold an Indian passport.
Date of birth should be between 1 July 2007 and 30 June 2012 (both days inclusive).
Must be residing and studying in India since 30 November 2024 or earlier.
Must be studying in an Indian school system since 30 November 2024 or earlier.
Must not have completed (or be scheduled to complete) Class 12 board examination before 30 November 2026.
Must not have commenced or plan to commence university studies before 1 June 2027.
Students appearing for NSEJS 2026 are not eligible for NSEB.

Students qualifying in NSEB may receive the following recognition:
Report card for every candidate available on IAPT portal.
Certificate for the Top 10% students at every examination centre.
Merit Certificate for the Top 1% students in every state.
Students qualifying for later Olympiad stages become eligible for further selection towards OCSC and the International Biology Olympiad.
Gold medals are awarded to students attending OCSC.
