NSEB 2025-26: The National Standard Examination in Biology (NSEB) is a competitive examination for higher secondary school students in India, primarily aimed at those in Classes 11 and 12. It serves as the first stage in the selection process for the International Biology Olympiad (IBO).
NSEB is organized by the Association of Teachers in Biological Sciences in collaboration with the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT) and the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE).
For the Academic Year 2025-26, NSEB Centre registration will be held from 1st August to 20th August 2025, followed by student enrolment from 21st August to 14th September 2025. The NSEB 2025-26 is scheduled to be conducted on 23rd November 2025 from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm.

The NSEB 2025-26 Registration Process will be started by the officials for candidates from 21st August 2025 and the deadline for online registration is 14th September 2025. NSEB 2025-26 Exam Date Out
The NSEB 2025 Exam Date will be held on 23rd November 2025 (2.30 pm to 4.30 pm) by the Indian Association of Physics Teachers' (IAPT) official website, iapt.org.en. Students who are planning to take the NSEB Exam 2025 must reach at their respective locations across the nation.NSEB Eligibility Criteria
NSEB Exam is for Indian students who have a keen interest in chemistry and have excelled in biology. Students at the higher secondary level take this exam and around 850 centres are allocated by the organizing committee in various cities and towns to facilitate the examination process. Students must satisfy the eligibility criteria mentioned below:
- The applicant must be an Indian citizen first.
- The NSEB test is designed for students in grades 11 and 12.
- Date of birth between July 1, 2006 and June 30, 2011, both dates inclusive.
- Must be residing and studying in India on or before November 30, 2023. Must be studying in the Indian school system on or before November 30, 2023.
- Must not have completed (or intend to complete) the Class 12 board examinations before 30 November 2025.
- Must not have commenced (or intend to commence) studies at a university or equivalent institution before 1 June 2025.
- Must not appear in NSEJS 2025.
NSEB Registration 2025-26
The IAPT (Indian Association of Physics Teachers) will start the NSEB Registration Process 2025-26 in August 2025 and the NSEB Registration link will be made available at iapt.org.en. The candidates can apply and pay the fees via the IAPT website after verifying their eligibility. The NSEB 2025 Online Application must be submitted with all necessary paperwork. It is advisable to fill complete the NSEB Registration before the deadline to avoid any kind of glitches.

To finish the NSEB 2025-26 Online Registration Process, students must pay a registration fee of Rs. 300/-. - NSEB: The NSEB (National Standard Examination in Biology) is the first stage, and all students in grades 1 to 12 are entitled to participate after enrolling for the tests.
- INBO: The Indian National Olympiad or Indian National Biology Olympiad is the second stage of the exam, and only 300 qualified students who scored higher than others are allowed to compete. The INBO is held at various locations across India.
- OCSC: Approximately 35 students are selected from INBO to attend this camp. The OCSC camp focuses on theoretical and practical training to prepare students for the international level.
- PDT: The Pre-Departure Training Camp offers intensive training to the top four students selected from OCSC.
- IBO: In the final stage, students represent their school and country in the International Biology Olympiad on a global platform.

Is it possible for me to immediately compete in the International Biology Olympiad?
No, a student who has not completed the several phases of testing that lead to IMO selection would not be permitted to represent India abroad. If a student wishes to participate in IMO, he or she must first pass the NSEB exam. Students who pass the tests will be allowed to join the training camp.
